There were definite parallels with our performance against Derby in that second half. And by that I mean Liverpool were ****ing ****e. I think Sevilla winning the tournament for the third year running does show that teams from the Champions League should not be allowed a second chance in the Europa though.
In terms of points difference Sevilla were closer to the bottom team in La Liga than the top one. Won 14, drew 10 lost 14,
They were still in the UCL as a result of winning the Europa last season. In my opinion no UCL teams should be allowed to go down into the Europa. It devalues the competition IMO, gives off the idea that the quality of the teams already there isn't good enough. Just my opinion though.
Don't disagree. Although I think that it was brought in to placate the big clubs who get knocked out of the CL. But it is Sevilla who have taken advantage so good for them.
It came back on. There's no chance this was going to get abandoned with 20 minutes of extra time played. Both teams wanted to continue regardless.
There's still a few about, it's nice not to see loads of Leeds shirts around here any more too. Times have definitely changed round here in the last ten years, when I travel around the area now City shirts are definitely pre-eminent followed by the eggchasing jerseys.
Milners never done anything in tournaments other than play a journeyman role, I will admit I did not see the previous legs and was writing about this match but that was the point of me creating the thread, I wasn't commenting on games from a few weeks ago. Clyne can still play a decent role for England given a chance I should say too, just not overly keen on Henderson and the other
You dont even see TWS shirts in Leeds. On other points - glad Liverpool lost and agree with Quill about failed UCL teams getting a second chance in the in the EL. It cheapens it. If you're out, you're out.
