Not feeling too confident about this game. The odds on Tbilisi are tempting...

...one can only hope one didn't put one's house on it! :D

EDIT - A great performance against poor opposition, professionally disposed of for once with some startling individual performances.

Soldado...clinical.
Rose...card magnet.
Townsend...motm.

Bale - would we better?, probably, but we don't look too bad without. Still don't see how he and Ronaldo can be given free roles, I'm not sure he'll suit a disciplined role myself, and he'll never take a free kick again until he pulls on a Wales shirt. If he goes I say Modric will have had a lot to do with it. He will have been in his ear to look after him, big difference having a friend where you're going, despite we think of Modric, they'll still be on good terms. Last thing....anyone remember Stevie G's 11th hour u-turn from his all but done Chelsea deal? <whistle>

The problem against Utd was tha their ability to take their chances and defend was on another level to us, as we more than matched them around the park with the ball. Hopefully we will have learnt from our defensive errors and will be more clinical in front of goal otherwise it could be a very similar result.

By the way, given your new signings, what do you think will be a good season for you? I think you are a shoe in for top 4 atm and could win one of the cups or Europa League this season (especially if you sign Willian)

Yeah, no doubt RVP is in a different class and Man U defended better than you did. But you were controlling the game and looking good till the two goals. It will be a big test for us to face a top footballing side. I'm not that confident, but I can't wait to see it!

How will we do this year? Hell if I know. I'll save my optimistic predictions until we've actually won something. (When they'll no longer be predictions...)

Incidentally, never fear! Our atmosphere Thursday will have a secret weapon or two...:emoticon-0178-rock:

If Bale stays, we'll be challenging for the title. If, as is now fully expected by almost every sensible Spurs fan, he leaves for Real, I'd be happy with 4th, and I foresee Arsenal finally being booted out of the Sky "big 4" club.

I think the waiting world is about to witness the North London Power-Shift.

Trust me on this.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I thought you were thrice bitten fourth shy on this matter? I hope you haven't just jinxed it (again :P)

Townsend :emoticon-0152-heart

Fvck off to Madrid Bale, you're successor's hit town. As many have said, Townsend has pushed his way past Lennon in the pecking order now. He's had a superb 9 months of football while Lennon has done very little in that period. A goal and two assists, when was the last time Aaron did that against any opponent?

Not sure about the pecking order yet, as has been said, we need to assess Townsend's overall game. However, having said that if Bale had given that exact same performance last night all the papers would be saying "and that's why Real want to pay £93 million for him".

Absolutely loved the DT game, and so pleased Lloris played.

Had we played him v Basel and another defender instead of Gallas, we could easily have made our first Euro semi-final for nearly 30 years.

I hope this year we have a better squad and really give the Europa a go. We need another keeper in, as we are way too reliant on Hugo, assuming Gomes is 'finished' at Spurs.
