Draw was a fair result though I lost the live stream on 91 mins lol! It came back on in the 93 rd minute talk about pissed off!!
Worrying times for us swans I think. We don't look like the Swansea from last season, a few of our players lacking urgency. Grrr.
Project I will not disagree, we were good and bad but it looked like they had us in a strangle hold for a good 20 min spell and we struggled to adjust after that, if they had kept 11 on the field they were always going to get a goal.
Swansea doesn't look a PL team on a night like this: passes/clearances from defence straight to the opposition, poor passing, no creativity etc...
The issue I have is since the red card we dominated possession by a large margin, larger than our usual standards when we were even on form but all of the players and the manager seemed happy to play for the 1-0 win. I find that almost unforgivable, others teams would have gone for the throat.
Why is it our defence panic so easily when the end of the game is approaching. I mean, Ben's header was appalling for someone under no pressure. Although at the same time, thats partially down to team mates not giving him a shout. Although Williams header prior to Ben's was just as abysmal. Feel bad for Vorm, as anything but a top notch finish and that was saved. Made himself big, but unfortunately the finish was too good.
I think we give credit to the opposition - at least in part - who played very well second half and maybe even better with 10 men. As NJ says they deserved a draw at least. But Laudrup must be pulling his hair out. With 2 mins to go and you are in front you do not play a long, no-hope ball to their keeper. And when the ball comes back up you ****ing clear it! So well done messrs Rangel and Davies. Those of us who have been around long enough know that this is what Swansea have always been like - always make it hard for ourselves.
Unbelievable. Well maybe not. I shouted at Ben "don't head, bring it down" - easy for me to say obviously. Thought he was good apart from that, probably the player who looked keanest to go forward all the time. And agree, they deserved the draw. Even at ten men they still looked the team most likely and I thought the red was a little bit harsh. Can't see us beating Valencia, should be interesting now! Oh well, roll on Stoke.
62% - 38% possession for the swans. 15 -10 shots off target for the kuban. 6 - 4 shots on target for the kuban. 1 -3 corners for the swans. 10 -13 fouls for the swans 2 - 1 yellows for kuban 1 - 0 red for kuban Its not working is it...A draw is a shocking result for us with those statistics.
Draw was a fair result in my opinion. Game of two halves. Kuban were great,no bus parking for them. On another night they would have scored a shed full. Perhaps we can swap Balde for Alvaro. Surely, young Donnelly can do what he does for fifteen minutes or so. It's always disappointing to concede at the death, but fair play to Kuban, they took the game to The Swans',and even with ten men looked like nicking a goal, and what a great goal it was.
Fudge me. St Gallen now gone ahead with 10 men. If that stays the same then a draw v Valencia would send us thru, I think.
Wasn't clever was it? But Ben Davies was even worse. He had time to chest it down but, even if he didn't get a call, his header was downright atrocious. He was under no pressure whatsoever and that's got to be the weakest, most feeble clearing header I've seen in a long, long time. A prospective centre back? Not for me. As for the rest of the performance, we struggled and failed to contain 10 men at the end. They were a yard faster than us all over the pitch and this after having to chase the ball hard when we had spells of lengthy possession. Said it before and here it is again, our fitness levels are not where they should be. In two consecutive games we have had a decent first half then fallen right away in the second. It's a shame because we played reasonably well, came so close and did put in more effort than last Sunday.... just not quite enough and they were allowed to pressurize us into a bad mistake. Anyway, onwards and upwards. The worst thing about tonight was that confidence might be dented for Stoke. The lads must take the opportunity to show what they can do and at least start moving up the league table.
Not sure why you didn't perform 2nd half, Ruban took it to you and looked more lively. I thought the sending off was harsh but it didn't effect the rusks. Do you think it is the type of players you have? By that I mean you have technically good player but don't seem to know how to dig in and scrap when needed, fair assessment or not?
A draw game should never have been an option after their past games against the others in our league. and against 10 men with little time left then its absolutely shocking...they should not have been in the frame for a deserved draw..
interestinwhat you say but alvaro Vetch, I metioed this a few weeks back, early days but the guy looks like shector mk2 to me! lots of hoest endeavour but all icin an no cake so to speak. If weare going to use a youth player it may as well be one of our own ! why train up somebody elses youngster ? It looks like I was a lucky dip ,one that could have gone either way , problem for the young lad is that we are not playing our best football, that aint helping him . Positives for me were good creative play 1st half and Bony looking the part with Poz, Laudrup needs to keep this combination together and develop it ,another positive is that we looked more like a team without mchu, just like we did last time he was injured! I know the 2 nd half was ****ty and as soon as Laudrup took off our wide pace we handed inititive to them IMO . Ben Davis had a shocker, was sloppy all game but he just returned to ftness so understandable, my worry is how he seems to lose his man very easily,he is not improving in this very quickly but the guy is 20 yrs old and ahead of the curve in so many other areas. Bottom line is that we look like a new team, which is exactly what we are, euro league is killing the time we spend on the training field and that's why we are patchy in terms of slick passing and inconsistent in performance. Laudrup is trying to bed in 22 players at the same time in terms of getting to know each others traits and tactical awareness, its gonna take time but the clock is now ticking IMO. He needs to play the same team twice/three times in a row because it will start to cost us. The tools to do the job are there, look at Bony, feed the ****er and he will bury the chances! poz looks better suited to do this than michu who while apparently carrying an injury has played more games than any other swans player
Decent observation, Taff. At the moment, our players seem to go into a sulk if other sides don't stand off them and let them play. Outside of the back four, only Michu seems to play like he wants it and he's out for four weeks..... For me, Bony is a welcome addition. Nobody pushes him about. When he gets up to speed he's going to be a gem for us.
Valencia won 3-2 in the end. I think that means a draw v Valencia doesn't make any difference re qualifying.
