anyone watching this? It’s a good competition, but the men’s pole vault is absolutely sensational, an 18 year old Swede has smashed his own personal best and the world junior record about 5 times. It’s brilliant seeing his competitors mobbing him with every new clearance, including the blokes who are still in the competition.

Did you see this poor guy earlier in the competition....

The young Swede takes the gold in the pole vault, sensational, beating the world record holder from France. And he might have more vaults to set more records.

Men coming out for the 4x100m and the Finns have what can only be described as a fat bloke running for them........and the British men walk it, outstanding.

Well it seems only Steels and myself have any interest but UK win the athletics completion and come second in the overall combined Euro competition to Russia. I think it was a great idea to run the athletics, swimming/diving, cycling and gymnastics championships at the same time in different places.

Shame I only really noticed it was on yesterday......

I've been watching cheering on the Brits, Noggies, all the beautiful ladies and a few ugly throwers. There was s 17 year old Inglebritsen kid who won gold in the 1500 m then another gold the day after in the 5000m who I thought was pretty føkkin sensational! But good athletics is always good to watch.

I saw that lad, didn’t he beat one or two of his older brothers in the process?

I enjoyed the athletics, cycling and even the swimming (it looks like we've got some very competitive swimmers coming through).

I think the coordinated Euros across multiple sports has been a huge success and I hope they continue with it.

The uninformed who voted Brexit may just have put an end to that. Not sure of the politics behind it or the agreements in place TV rights and travel etc. But at least we will have a blue passport cover. Hang on I've got 9 years left on the red one.

Did you see the poor girl representing Israel (I think) who stopped to celebrate her “silver” with one lap still remaining??

It was nice of the cameras to stay on her as long as humanly possible <doh>
I agree with Col though - we have amazing sprinting talent right now.
