A few more genuine competitors for places would improve us. Jota has.

Now wijnaldum has gone the midfield is worse as thiago and henderson have no competition really. Milner and jones are not there.

If renato is good enough fine but if hes another but just cos his value is lower than it ought to be then its ot improving our first team.

Imo konate was a good buy. We now have 11 good men plus gomez and jota/mane and maybe even matip but then its players who wouldn't get into any other top 8 first team as options.

Our second 11 today really represents sell on value

It just feels a couple of real options short if renato sanches is one and we can sell williams, wilson, shaqiri, grujic, minamino and origi for 10-15 each (a lot of work to do there) then we should be looking to bring in mbappe for the lads and a midfielder.

Then all they'd have to whine about is lack of rb cover.

We've been heavily linked to Neuhaus and Pellegrini and loosely linked to Tielemans all of whom would suit us and fit Klopp's profile preference.

Yeah but he played **** for Swansea 4 years ago and done nothing of note when lille won the league this year apparently.

Can’t see buying from Leicester. Buying from England is just too expensive these days as shown by city’s ridiculous price being quoted for Grealish.

Probably.
Grealish is English and diver flavour of the month, and City are known to throw money about like it's going out of style.
All of those things might mean it wouldn't be quite so bad us going for Tielemans, but still more than FSG are likely to pay I suppose.
Because we splurged on Virgil and Alisson doesn't mean we're likely to make a habit of it.
Not after we've rescued Mbappe from languishing in an inferior league anyway.

neuhaus certainly fits the bill but is quite attacking.

I suppose it comes down to what klopp wants for balance.

Thiago, fabinho and henderson are all srot of of a type i guess though radically different skils. no 6 is where they are at.

Conversely, one thing that strikes me is how Welsh the Welsh players look ( how Spanish the Spanish look, how French the French look .....) while there doesn't seem to be a Dutch look. They aren't the only ones. There isn't an English look either.

You can probably throw German and French into that too
 
Never thought there'd be a better team at falling over and rolling around than the Italians, but Spain are absolute masters.
