I wonder if this will follow the usual pattern.

A couple of ropey wins, the press get very very excited, we come up against a decent team and home we come.

My feelings toward England with Southgate in charge are very similar to when hodgeson had us, just a slight resignation that the quality of football will be a bit ****e, but you watch anyway in a dutiful sort of "well I've always watched them" type of thing

Hope taa misses out. And anyone else picked from Liverpool has a sudden knock and can't go.

**** England

England v scotland for 2nd in the group:)

Robertson would nail trent, but southgate will play Walker so he will have to content himself with the lockdown Dodger extraordinaire

BREAKING: Sergio Ramos has been left out of the Spain squad for the Euros.

It means that there are NO Real Madrid players in the squad for a major tournament for the first time in Spain's history.

this is the problem with joe public

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Manchester United), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley).

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Reece James (Chelsea), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Kyle Walker (Manchester City).

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds), Declan Rice (West Ham), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund).

Forwards: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Mason Greenwood (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City).

26 man squad as voted by the bbc readers.

The defence has 3 RBS and 4 CBS but one is injured and another can't play in a two. Hopelessly unbalanced

the midfield reads more like a list of no 10s than anything. there is literally two grunts in the 9 to carry the team?

the forwards read as a poularity contest with greenwood in.

shoulth gate announced a 35 man provisional squad as he is flapping right now. ben white is mooted to be in that as the CB area seems to have an issue. aka panic. never selected before but all of a sudden he is in???

33 man squad announced to be reduced to 26.

no Ings, bamford, dier, pope.

ramsdale, white, Godfrey included until prob dropped out.

So looking at the squad. few votes of confidence and frankly dropping people now at the last second and sticking uncapped players in is a classic stupid england move. you pick your squad for the tournament not for the future. Seen this so many times.

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Man Utd), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Jordon Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Sheff Utd)

Defenders: John Stones (Man City), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), Harry Maguire (Man Utd), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker (Man City), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Reece James (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Ben Godfrey (Everton), Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid), Ben White (Brighton)

Midfielders: Mason Mount (Chelsea), Declan Rice (West Ham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Phil Foden (Man City), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds), Jesse Lingard (Man Utd), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Raheem Sterling (Man City), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Mason Greenwood (Man Utd), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund)

BOLD = first team imo
ORANGE = very close to first team
RED = out (need 7)

IMO England have an issue straight away at CB. before a ball is kicked Maguire is a bit of a doubt so coady and mings are hardly great back up frankly. This is imo why white has popped up as southgate is obsessed with 5 at the back. he could cover RCB. I am convinced trent won't go and james and tripper will go.

Its this simple 4 RBs in that squad. James, walker, tripper and james. one is not going.

england have an abundance of nice attacing midfiedlers but imo Stouhgate will play 3 **** cbs and remove all but one attacking cm.

Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire
James Rice Mount Chilwell
Sterling kane rashford

for example.

I would try to go more like city personally.

Get both mount and foden in that side with grealish to come in somehow.

we should walk the tournament if we’re staring with 12 men <whistle>. Guessing DCL shouldn’t be highlighted?

I think foden will start ahead of rashford. Been far superior this season.

Youve also only dropped 6 not 7. Don’t think saka will go personally.
