Right now our opponents as group winners could be FRANCE, but equally it is likely to be portugal.

however if we finish 2nd we could right now get slovakia or spain (assume its slovakia)

If we try and play within ourselves it will do us more harm than good imo. Just go for it and win by as much as you can and build that understanding between the players and their confidence.

Btw it'll be hard keeping it down to 1-0 when a couple of their players have been sent off.
 
So harry kane has been abysmal here and in last game. He looks like a scotland striker he is that bad.

Not too bad otherwise. 3 missed chances and two real chances for scotland.

Overall quite even with scotland slightly having the better of it in the last 15mins

Really england have problems in.midfield here. Rice and Phillips have been blown away.

Gilmour has taken on mount big time.

Scotland are giving little space here and inviting england on but after 35mins or so they started just coming out a bit

I'll clarify.

England's tactics = **** football

Turned into a team that is just lumping it forward and hoping Sterling or Foden can run in behind. Problem is that the ball isn't sticking up front so the midfield are being pinned to the defence.

You look at Italy and France and they play one touch pass and move, all the players know exactly how to play it. England taking two touches, stopping, looking up, basically signalling their passes. Scotland have anticipated pretty much everything. There's zero one touch pass and move football from England. It's dull ****e... and it's all Southgate.

Nah, rice and Phillip's are shown up as not wanting to be on the ball like midfielders should be.

Phillips wants to make runs not make passes.

Mount is being closed fast and foden is being put on his arse and neither like it.

Kane is hugely off the pace.

This is a game for grealish to fall over and dive for frees and hit the big cbs off the frees.

Mount had one really glaring one in Scottish pen area. Took touch then played ball and it was easily blocked out.

That touch is a killer right enough.

Problem is scotland got 5 at the back and 2 sitting in front. So rice and Phillips aren’t going to offer anything breaking them down.

didn’t need them both and should have dropped one for Grealish to at least offer some kind of creativity from deep even if it is just winning fouls.
 
Same as every other england game for last god knows how many years though, slow on the ball. Let’s players get back into position.

Had 10 minutes where was open end to end then back to boring slow football.

Kane, don’t know if it’s him being **** or just not getting any service. Maybe not of both?

Stelring again showing why city weren’t using him end of last season because he’s bang out of form. Bar the goal last Sunday he did nothing, juat ran behind a couple times but he doesn’t have that space today.
