All the talk about No Real Madrid players in the Spain squad... well aside from Asensio you wouldn't want to pick the others, either not good enough or too old.
And the same could be said for Barca, who've only got 3 in the squad. Both sides have focused too much on buying ready made players from around the world in the last 5 odd years. (which Real have always done tbf)
Both need to go back and look at how to bring their own youngster through.


Also the lack of Real players could be something to do with Luis Enrique.

Even when Croatia had periods with more of the ball, we never let them really look that dangerous. They might not be the team of three years ago (they were missing Lovren for a start), but they're still a decent side and to see them off fairly comfortably bodes well. It's the perfect game for England coming up. A Scotland side needing a win, full of gusto wanting to beat the English in their own back yard. They'll be going for it and I think that'll help our game. Expecting it to be more end to end with England looking convincing and coming out on top.

It's the sort of game where the formbook goes out the window. I have a horrible feeling we're going to lose.

If we do win in a comfortable manner it will give me more confidence that our mentality has improved.
