Exactly the same formation and tactics that we used against the Germans.

We'll try to make it a tight game and limit Italy's chances of getting in behind us. At the other end our quick players should have more than enough to create and get in behind their defence. Spain done it with ease, time after time, they just didn't have anybody who could finish the chances off.

We also have quite a few creative players on the bench for later in the game when legs start to tire.

I think we can win this. I hope it isn't decided by a disputed penalty/free kick or an unlucky deflection/own goal, or a red card, or penalty shoot out.............................................or Italy scoring more than us

Those bet builders are good aren't they, I still have yet to do one but I did mess around with one without placing a bet for the final tonight just to familiarise myself with how it works. They seem a good idea, it appears to give the punter a little more control over the way they like to bet, and the odds seem to offer a bit of value so you can keep the stakes lower.

WTF is Southgate doing. He gambled on getting to extra time and it could have so easily failed. He better bring on someone who can make an impact. I like Saka but in this match that was the wrong choice, too weak (especially if he is going to be strangled when he gets the ball - that surely was a red card. We won't get a penalty because of all the pre-match talk; Sterling's was a blatant penalty

Was never a pen. Not even in today's game. Don't get me wrong I'd have taken it had it been given but good call from ref. He's been good tonight in my opinion

Southgate is going through one of his sleep phases at the most critical time. WTF has he got against Jadon Sancho. This brilliant young player sitting on the bench ffs. I've had enough...............

We will agree to disagree there smokey. I watched it again and it was clear to me. Never mind we are ****ed now and it will be down to the manager for his sub decision

I couldn't be more proud of these players and Southgate. Handled themselves with dignity throughout the tournament and we've got an amazing young squad which will now be a force at tournaments for a little while to come, yet.

Hid away when England were progressing and now comes out of hiding when they lose on penalties in the final.

Disappointing. At 1-0 the time was ours to be positive. Outplayed ultimately and the peno shoot out was another massive choke whatever way you dress it up.

We didn't actually beat anything of note,including an old German side, but so much to look forward to with this group. Gareth needed to a bit braver but he will have evolved as well during this event.

Just hope everyone behaves on the way home wherever they are.

Onwards and upwards and only 18 months to wait to have another go at trophy.
