Never hoped to lose a sweepstake before...
Is this sweepstake thing still going? I lost all interest the second the draw was made and I got North Macedonia.
Que Será, Será.
Is it too early?
We've got our champions!
Congratulations (?) to @Duffens_Briefs and @oldman
Let me know if you've got any preferred charity for a donation and I'll chuck in a couple of quid
Whoever feels like it can of course feel free to join
Very kind of you Febbos, i'll have a few quid ta.
I wish to dedicate my win to the home for homeless numpty z list celebrities who have been on tv during the tournament who know absolutely £uck all about football. Bitter ? Me. No way!
I believe the highest amount raised for charity from a Euro Sweepstakes event on here was around 700 Pounds Febbos. 2016 when Quill ran it?
I shall implement a registration charity fee next time around
I know we got £300 for the World Cup one I did
I'll bung Dove House a few quid. Well done for organising Febbos.
Quill did the 2018 World Cup sweepstakes so are you going back to 2014? I sponsored one where you were involved and hundreds of dollars were raised but cannot recall the competition.
I just checked Mrs B_M_B - it was the 2014 W.C.
I re-read the posts on that thread in full - it's a good read and just shows the generosity of so many members of the Not606-Hull City forum.
Very much a heart-warming feeling to be sure.
The total reached 700 quid by the look of it, which the winners allocated to the Alzheimers Society. Triggered by Spanner82, followed by your extremely generous opening sponsorship donation. Full credit to the not-606 HCAFC community.
Good to see you're still contributing Mrs B_M_B - I hope you have forgiven me for referring to you as Mrs D_M_D at the time
Many, many thanks for finding that tc. I knew there was another poster as well as Spanner 28 who was deeply involved and you like him certainly made a great contribution .
Re-reading that thread brought back many lovely memories. I even said I was leaving the forum and handing over to my worser half but after that didn't transpire as I wanted ,here I am with many others from that thread 7 years on!
A really tremendous response by all who took part in the competition and the effort is still listed on the Just Giving site. https://www.justgiving.com/not606Hull/
Hope we get to run another similar charity competition for World Cup 2022 and match or even exceed our great record amount of 2014.
£20 of the DBs family fortune sent to DH.
Chamberlain Road , HU8 8DH.
Flipping heck. £700. Didn’t realise we made that much.
Now next year there’s 48 spots free. I think we could get a grand to charity
I think the number in '22 remains 32, but increases to 48 nations in '26 ( if it's been fully ratified?).
Definitely 32 teams next year tc.
Really great reading back on these posts.....I forgot we won it TC. Also, nice to see some posts from Filey.
