Where's your answer to my last response then ? You're normally extremely loquacious. I need more of your negative feedback.
Yes the original twitter post is out of context, a couple of hundred fans pushed there way past stewards outside the ground then tried forcing there way in, apparently the same happened to a lesser extent at the Denmark game, thoose getting clumped are thoose trying to get in without tickets, thought it was a bit rich people shouting "pay your money " when capacity of the stadium was nearly half of what it would normally be, they'll be plenty on here who have either blagged there way into a game or even jumped turnstiles in another life. better view of the situation here
It looks like some of last night's tweets will be costly, Savills Estate Agents have already sacked a manger and Leyton Orient have banned someone...
Looking at how much goal their keeper filled was scary for me, never mind the penalty takers. It had to be hit perfectly into the side netting to beat him. The two Harry's managed that. Rashford always uses the same technique and has a good record, and he can't really be called inexperienced any more. He would certainly have been one of my first picks for a penalty. Maybe given a bit longer on the pitch before though. That was un Gareth like in the planning, Rashford had to actually ask one of the coaches if he was supposed to play right back. it was a few minutes, but could easily have been caught us out.
It's no real surprise .. football fans have been doing that years .. in particular the Scousers .. that was a standard ploy for them on away trips just prior to the Hillsborough disaster. Those without tickets turning up.en mass and forcing a gate !
To lose out on penalties is ... I think I'd rather we lost 2-1 going for a goal in extra time and losing the break. More dignity somehow. I hope the squad can recover from the defeat and come back stronger. Its the best England team in my lifetime, and Southgate is the best manager too. Like others I think his only mistakes of the tournament happened in those last 30 minutes, it was calling out for a more adventurous approach miles before he eventually brought on Grealish. Saka looked about 15 years old going up to take his goal, poor bugger, men v boys. So many positive memories though - undefeated in normal/extra time, that win against Germany, "our" 'Arry's goal ... and his penalty last night should be forcibly played on replay until it is seared into the mind of every member of the squad. That hoppy, skippy ****e is bad enough but in a high stakes moment its too vulnerable to it going wrong. Even Jorginho got it wrong last night. Just welly the bastard as hard as you can into the back of the net, preferably a corner if you want to be sophisticated about it. 18 months to the World Cup. Wonder when FIFA are going to tell us how the 2022-23 season is going to be ****ed up to accommodate the tournament?
No excuse for it, but it looks like people were trying to stop the ticketless thugs getting in, if that's the case then good on them.
It's easy to say Mancini outwitted Southgate but when you have the better, more experienced players it's not that difficult. To attack more you need to get hold of the ball and with only 34% possession England struggled in the second half to move forward, never mind get a shot on target.
I wouldn't be too bothered if the FA boycotted Qatar. In fact, I'd support it. It's a farce that an autocratic monarchy with zero footballing history or culture, that relies on slave labour to build the infrastructure for the World Cup and has a shocking human rights record was given world football's biggest tournament in the first place.
Agreed. But it won't happen as no one else will and there would be repercussions if we did. UEFA were no better playing games in Baku, which isn't even in Europe. You have to wonder why various sporting bodies award Azerbaijan with events when the population there show no interest in them and don't turn out to watch them.
Is it that they can’t afford them the general public ? Agree it’s totally wrong they keep getting a sporting events
Maybe it is because Baku is the only capital below sea level and the largest city below sea level? That is as good a reason as any. Obviously nothing to domwith oil, money and sordid things like that.
