I think your point below was a big part of the problem. I went to the Denmark game and policing/security was borderline non existent, even compared to a regular PL/FL game. There must have been somewhere in the region of 100,000 people at least milling around Wembley Way and the surrounding area, many ticketless and getting ****faced in some cases from as early as midday. This for the country's biggest matches in 55 years. Compare that to the mega steel plated security operation Hampshire Constabulary put in place for the notoriously colossal den of hooliganism that is Saints - Bournemouth, with police escort for Bompey fans between Southampton Central and St Marys. No PL/FL ground would allow ticketless fans to spend half a day drinking tinnies around the stadium perimeter as well. Kick off times are managed to avoid giving fans hours and hours of time to drink pre game, quelle surprise violence and bad behaviour is limited. Outside of stadiums as well, ordinarily people are discouraged (sometimes forcefully) from just milling around drinking in public spaces, in this instance no such action appeared taken. That isn't to downplay what seems to be a massive backwards step for football culture in this country, but if the relevant authorities (FA, UEFA, Police, Local Authorities) had pulled their finger out none of this would have happened, seems they collectively chose to have an off day.
I ordered an England football shirt a while back, no idea where it is. I ordered a couple of cricket ones too (England cricket and Southern Brave). Funnily enough I ordered 4 shirts and the Saints (home) one came almost immediately. Saints are massively in my good books as a result and had it about a week, the others I have no idea where they are and am going to have to start chasing soon.
I am sorry to say that my boycott of Italian food only lasted 6 days. Bloody lovely home made bolognese too. With Chianti, of course
Not that keen on Italian food. Not pizzas and pasta anyway, if there's other stuff available then fine. I prefer Indian if it is going to be a takeaway or eating out.
I get the best of both worlds lol. My father is Indian and my mother was Italian. I like to think of the ideal food as a curry flavoured Cornetto
We had one of the very lovely Mrs Godders lasagnes on Friday and it was delicious. She also makes a very mean jambalaya.
Given that we lost this game and most people are gutted, can the thread be moved from the top of choices?
