I mean to me it is irrelevant the defender cocked it up, he was a foot offside when the ball was played to him.
I fully agree with the sentiment but as anyone knows who has done even basic first aid, you cannot swallow your tongue. It is a harmful myth. Never stick your hand into someone's mouth as people have had fingers bitten off due to fitting. There is no such thing as biting your tongue.
I don't want to go into the realms of pedantry (although I clearly am going to) but if a casualty is unconscious, with no control, voluntary or involuntary, over any muscle, and their head is pointing upwards, the tongue, which is a large organ, can fall towards the back of the throat, blocking the airway. So yes, you don't "swallow your tongue", but it can block your airway.Tilting a casualty's head to one side, or supporting a casualty's neck, will ensure that the casualty's tongue will not block the airway. Placing the casualty in the recovery position, with their head to one side, tilted slightly backwards, should mean that the casualty's airway remains open. Here endeth today's lesson.
Which is my point. Recovery position for open airway. Don't tell anyone people swallow their tongue as the instinct is to stick fingers in the mouth to move it. Totally not necessary or helpful.
Am watching Austria vs. North Macedonia. It's so incredibly terrible. The skill level and decision making is awful. I have watched technically better matches in Conference South. It's so bad, l am transfixed by it. It's like watching a really bad movie and you keep watching, telling yourself "It will get better... at some point..." only, secretly, you just know its **** but have lost 30 mins of your life and you are unwilling to accept it. Sorry all for the rant!
Austria goal was an excellent finish mind. Poor quality but think it's actually been a relatively entertaining game. Delighted for Pandev. Veteran.
