Suffice to say that "Great Britain" is the mainland Island of Britain, the United Kingdom includes NI, as does the "British Isles".

ergo "Britain" and the "UK" are two separate entities.

Why the **** are you lot still going on about this? I shall put an end to it now. GB=England, Scotland, Wales. UK=England, Scotland, Wales, Norn Iron. BI=England, Scotland, Wales, Norn Iron and the taigs. What stopme was saying is that sometimes when people speak about Britain, they mean the UK, which of course is technically wrong, but who gives a ****. Why did you all ignore my question about the UK Olympic team being called Team GB when there are people from Northern Ireland in it? Technically, it is wrong to call it Team GB, it should be Team UK surely, but we all know what it means.
