Romania only conceded 2 goals in their qualifying group. Anyone think they can win the tournament on the back of 0-0 draws and penalty shoot-outs?
I've just checked Wales last three friendlies... Defeat against the Netherlands. A draw against Northern Ireland Defeat against Ukraine Now the Qualifiers. Bosnia took 4 points off you. You drew at home to Israel
They've got France first game of the tournament, they'll get beat there. Romania are overrated, I'm sure they have a ridiculous place in the FIFA rankings but it certainly doesn't look justified. It will be between them and Switzerland for second in that group.
We had our best players out for the game against Ukraine, and they just managed a 1-0 win at their place, big deal, of course it was the same against Northern Ireland, No Bale, No Ramsey, matter of fact, we had Defender Ben Davies (head) and Tom Bradshaw (hamstring) who joined a lengthy Wales injury list which already includes Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Hal Robson-Kanu, James Collins, Andy King and Paul Dummett all out, and we still got a draw from the Irish. Now on to the Dutch game which we lost 3-2 with again no Bale or Ramsey, matter of fact, we also had Hal Robson-Kanu and David Cotterill also missing, manager Chris Coleman made five changes from October's final Euro 2016 qualifying win against Andorra as he selected a new-look side that included a first start for Leicester forward Tom Lawrence. Coleman stated, "We scored two goals without Bale and Ramsey, which is a big thing when you look at who was getting the goals for us in the qualification campaign, so just remember this we'll have a fully fit squad when you come to town sunshine, and we will be right up for it, you can be sure of that.....
... don't think you've seen a lot of him this season ... you can let him loose ... you'll still have plenty of time to catch him ...
... he'd be great if you had San Marino in the group stage admittedly (where most of his international goals have been scored) .. you have summed it up ... he is a 'good player' ... but his goalscoring record in tournaments is no better than average ... and just about non-existant against the top teams ... no surprise to me that he himself is now saying his future lies in midfield ...
I think with his record which not many players can boast he has nothing to prove....He is one we will have to mark very well or he will score.....
Well past his best as a front man but I've rarely seen a better, more accurate passer of the ball. He's very underrated in that respect imo. England have a decent team but are beatable. I'm not that confident but we did beat a full strength Belgium in qualifying remember.
