Come on Rooney has to be there, He can turn a game at an instant but i would not play him as the main striker as he is better with a free reign....
I didn't say being there of course he has to be In the squad, I wouldn't start him, I think he been going down hil and is overated as it stands. Safc I get what you say about experience, but what has he done in any other tournament for England and how are those expected to get experience if teams just keep putting in the old heads, this tournament should be a lead up to a World cup for England playing the younger hungrier players to get experience, you just never know and they made do in this tournament what they did to Germany not so long back.
Totally agree , Rooney would be one of the first I pencil in if I was manager , and like you say , not in the striker role
Great thread this, nice one PGF!, what a beautiful day it would be if Bale had a blinder and beat England with a hatrick! Of course England have an incredible front line for us to to deal with, their midfield is average though, and that I think is where we can hurt them, Ramsey, Allen, Ledley, should relish taking control, as for defence both teams can be suspect on times, so I agree with Dai, if we show them no respect and get at them, we could well get a result.......
For me, our best midfielders are Dier and Alli, I can't see them three you have highlighted taking control against them and whoever else, Roy, slots in with them.
Ramsey, Allen & Ledley certainly have the experience over Dier & Alli though, so could be a close battle methinks.
Kingsley has been called up for Scotland , they must have watched him playing for us the last few games . Very , very excited about our man Kingsley for next season , although I kinda would have preferred Guidolin and his assistants having him all summer to mold him into shape .
God I love it when I'm wrong and stupid about things in a positive way .......which is more often that I'd like to admit ..thanks lefty .Like I said before , I don't pay to much attention away from the Swans .
What in history makes England think they'll definitely get out of the group ? They usually freeze when it matters.
