Intertesting comments from Russia

Russian MP Igor Lebedev criticised French police and called on Russian football fans to "keep up the good work".

"I see nothing wrong with football fans fighting. On the contrary, well done to our boys! Keep up the good work!" he tweeted.

"What happened in Marseille and other French cities is not the fans' fault. It is down to the police's inability to organise and hold such events," he wrote in a separate tweet the same day.

Just think what the next World Cup will be like ?

That is disgraceful. They should not be allowed to hold ANY sporting events in the future. Bloody hell they're behaving like third world dictatorship!

This made me roar with laughter. Full marks to the instigator <ok>

"In this photo, is the greatest attacking player of our generation, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic." <laugh>

It's also interesting that despite almost all reports blaming the trouble on Russian, English & French yobs. Uefa only seem to be threatening Russia & England with being thrown out of the tournament.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere that Hoolahan is the oldest player to score in the Euros!!! <ok>

Maybe this year, but according to wiki he'd have to play in not just the next euro championship but the one after that to beat the current record of:

Oldest goalscorer
38 years and 257 days, Ivica Vastić (

Wes will be 38 by the next Euro championship but only just (May 20th). So I'm not sure he'll pinch that record!

Bah!

Well they should be organised apparently the 3 CB's & goalkeeper all play for the same Italian team. There's a lot to be said for consistency with team selection, something Leicester learnt this season and hopefully something AN has now learnt.

Yes, the Goalkeeper and back 3 all play for Juventus, Italy were a well organised unit last night in stark contrast to Belgium who looked like they were playing their first game together. Hazard had to over complicate everything, trying to do a trick or beat two men before eventually playing the simple pass he could have done when he first got the ball - by which time he had slowed down their attack to walking pace. Fellaini, Witsel and Nainngolan were sucked into the ball every time leaving massive gaps in the midfield. And why would you split up a CB pairing of Alderweirald and Vertonghen (who play together week in week out for Spurs) by sticking Vermaelan in CB and shifting Vertonghen
