Henderson and Wilshire have been rubbish first half. Henderson just keeps kicking it off the pitch and Jack just keeps giving the ball away. How surprising, it's been a year since they played football.

Henderson, freekick, first man again. Corner, First man. Cross, off the pitch. It's like watching Norwich set-pieces.

Wilshire finally taken off, but then take off Llanna when he's playing well, and leave Henderson on, who is still kicking balls straight out of play!!!!!

So draining to support Norwich and England.

It's almost like watching an NCFC game in that with so much possession, they rarely threaten the opposition's goal.

I've been pulling my hair out and screaming at the telly. It's so painful to watch!! I said about 2 or 3 months ago. I'd take Andy Carrol, because all our players are flair, speed, prissy footed attackers. We have had about 20 corners in this game. Carrol would have scored from about 5 of them!

From the BBC website - England have had 65% of possession in the second half.

So Wales win the group and Engerland are 2nd - they should have been top easily.
Time for Woy to go, though I have to say Rooney has mostly played well. <ok>

We could play another 90 minutes and wouldn't get a goal.
Wales top our group after we battered all 3 sides. What a f*cking disgrace. England - Never fail to disappoint.
It was easier to win the group than f**k it up! Hats off to Roy and the boys. That is quiet some achievement to fail to beat those 2 sides.

I just don't understand how we could create so little. Clyne ran rings around their fullback in the first half, but then never tried to get behind them 2nd half. It was stupid tactics. Not having Carol or Crouch will come back and bite us. Not enough variety. It's all very well taking Rashford for the experience, but he isn't ready and I think Carroll wins that game for us.
At least if we face someone better there maybe more space for our attack.

    Bah!

Back in UK for a visit so watched the game. So much possession, so little creativity. Got to the box, dither and pass backward to give responsibility to someone else. If Smalling is among the best four centrebacks in England then we are in trouble.

I hate to agree with Robbie Savage, but we knew coming into this tournament that we were the only real good side in the group, and it's not rocket science to expect them to sit back and defend. We had no plan on how to break them down.

Width would have helped, the only winger in the squad was Sterling who has flopped. Roy's selection policy seemed to be to pick players from big teams on reputation, and ignore the need for a rounded squad. 5 strikers but nobody to feed them. Playing them out of position just to get them on the pitch is ridiculous. Townsend may not be in the top 23 English players, but would have given a useful, different option.

But we took Milner who is such a talented and creative winger!
I'd have been tempted to bring Walker on for Sturidge, at least then we could have had pace and width. but we were just so narrow and trying to play through a XI man defensive wall was always going to be a struggle. Just subbing on like for like replacements is not tactically good enough, I think we all have our reservations about Roy and last night showed some of his limitations, but how about the players getting their heads up and looking at the opposition and finding a way?

    Bah!

Considering we knew they were set up for a draw I can't believe how long it took us to get the ball forward.

Totally agree, even Alex Neil is more tactically aware than Woy <doh>

And something else they have in common - major tinkering with the line up when there's absolutely no need to! <grr>

The N'iron keeper, Michael McGovern has played a blinder in the first 15 minutes, four decent saves.
Maybe Hamilton Accies wouldn't be averse to a cheeky bid?

Apparently Woy rang Alex before the kick-off to seek his advice on making wholesale changes. The call went like this:

Woy: Hi Alex, you ok ?
Alex: Aye, fine Roy, and you ?
Woy: Yeah - chipper. I'm thinking about making wholesale changes to the line-up to suit the opposition. What do you think ?
Alex: Fine Roy - worked for me last season a treat
    Woy: Eh ? Weren't you welegated ?
    Alex: Err... aye.
    Woy: Perfect, I'll do it.

The plan worked as we all saw......<whistle>
