So I remember this. Both Rooney and Scholes were sent off in a pre season game and got 3 match bans. Gerrard got sent off in pre season the next summer and got no ban.

that's why it was such a poor game. to push Vardie and Kane wide so Rooney could play in the middle was a joke. neither Vardie or Kane could get into the game,

The hopes still there mate, just can't stand the dull football. Like I've said for Liverpool, I'd be the same if we had someone like Mourinho in charge and I was similar during Houllier's reign too.

I'll watch us during the euros still, usually watch most games in the big tournaments.

Yep, watch when it actually matters. International friendlies is just as tedious as watch pre season games. Why EVERY England game still needs to be televised is just a money maker.

I just got in from work and watching on plus lol. I know the score even though not got to the goal yet. Rooney was playing too deep. Now sterling and wilshete on made more impact from rooney getting on the ball further up.

Portuguese are dirty f ucks aren't they. Ali needs to watch how easy it is to wind him up in games as other nations will notice this and target him.
 
Well that made sense. Rooney getting into the game more and then subbed. Now Sturbridge and lallana on.

The problem isn't Rooney though, its more that Rooney is being shoehorned into a formation and team that he doesn't suit. You have to make a choice whether you want to go with Vardy & Kane up top or with 1 of Kane/Vardy up top and Rooney in behind them. You can't have all 3 of them in the team.

The other issue I think you should have with the team is why is Alli being stuffed into the team as a CM? He has made his name at Spurs being an attacking midfielder supporting the striker and making late runs into the box and beyond the striker. All his strenghts are being negated by being stuck into a weird left midfield role in where he spends most of his time trying to defend the opposition full back rather than getting into the oppositions box.

Rooney will play as a CM in the Euros. It's not like the other options are Scholes, Gerrard or Lampard.
