How's that match, Billy? I'm actually watching the other one. I've watched every Russia game until today, but expected that game to be potentially less interesting. This game is pretty good end to end stuff - fairly even, chance-wise.

Russia were all over them until Greeks scored but the Greeks had a good penalty shout denied which sent Karagounis loony and just hit post with free kick <laugh> Russia still look like they can get a goal though.

I hope they do. I really don't want the Greeks through. People accuse us of being anti-football, but Greece... <steam>

Mick McCarthy is hilarious in his "big girl blouse" comments. He's added a second pitch to his usual monotone.....or he's pished!

He always cracks me up. He's like the Terry Wogan of Euro 2012. Less witty, though, with extra nonsensical babble. <ok>

Chance for Russia but header from Dzagoev goes inches wide...now the greeks are rolling round like tarts...wish UEFA/FIFA would put an end to all this ****. Robs us of so much game time every single match.

Pressure from the Russkies but it's looking ominous for them....and a final chance ends in row Z...and they think its all over...it is now <laugh> **** the russians anyway they robbed our world cup <whistle>

Bloody Greece win! And Russia's competition ends, to paraphrase Eliot, not with a bang but with a whimper. Absolute disgrace. No heart at all. Kudos to the Greeks, but I still hope they get spanked in the knock-out stages. ;)

I don't think anyone would have predicted this before kick-off!

Poland are out. Czech Republic go through as group winners and Greece go through as runners-up. Russia go out despite hammering the Czech's in the first game and looked odds-on to win the group. Russia have a better goal difference than Greece though... <confused>

They'll be having a party in Greece tonight... Only drinking water though as they can't afford anything else!

I was confused about that at first Chris, but I think they go on head-to-head record first and then goal-difference...I think.

That's the weirdest rule.

Surely they should do goal difference first? Like all of the leagues in the world do...

Still, i'm happy for Greece. The football isn't great but everyone loves an underdog so come on Greece!

Yeah, I think it's a very odd system. I'm not a fan, obviously, but Greece clearly knew it was a possibility and they beat the odds. Now we just have to hope that the Ukraine don't finish that well against us. That would hurt a lot! My worry is that the English team don't work as hard with Rooney back in, maybe expecting him to win it single-handedly. We've seen Liverpool do it with Stevie, and I've seen it happen with England and Rooney before. Provided we work hard as a team we should do it...but it's a tough game.

Spanish league goes on head to head record as well. I actually prefer it over goal difference. It means that one big win doesn't really mean anything but beating your nearest competitors is more important. I guess both have their pros and cons though.

it is a weird system. Tomorrow if holland beat Portugal, they finish above them on result but under Denmark who finish under Portugal. So it must all come down to goal difference if Denmark and Portugal lose

Correct. H2H rarely works when there is more than two teams. Goal difference is much easier to follow too <ok>

I wonder how how minutes before Rooney gets sent off on Tuesday

Rooney holds the record for most red cards in England's 140-year history ( shock horror, not), jointly held with another overrated MUFC egotist, David Beckham.

Only England player ever sent off while registered with LFC? Paul Ince. Says it all.

You wouldnt believe Yernited players would let down there country so often would you....cough.. patrice evra!!!
