Gerrard is lazy and isn't disciplined enough to play in a midfield 2 (although to be fair has been ok these last 2 games).
Suarez tries to do too much instead if being simple.
Agger sometimes goes to ground too easily when defending.
Enrique is too casual on the ball.

That's just 4 of our best players - all have weaknesses and all of these weaknesses have cost Liverpool goals this season.

Kelly will be a good player, and probably a better CB than RB but Johnson would be ahead of him everytime at the moment for me.

Fair points but maybe that is the problem with Liverpool...? Maybe there is a lack of fight in the side...? This is certainly something I said a few times during last season

IMO, if you are caught out of position, give the ball away, miss a simple tackle, etc, etc, then your get up or/and turn around and get your arse back into position as soon as possible!

I have criticised Gerrard for this in the past which is why I think he is better suited to the AM or RM roles that Rafa had him play. Suarez does track back if he does something wrong but, of course, there is the 'attitude' side of his game where he spits the dummy out. Can't say i like this but its a small sacrifice for a forward of his quality. not something you can afford though when talking about a defender IMO. I agree with the Agger comment too, again, this can be frustrating too but it is nowhere near as often as the others

But more importantly he lacks guts. When the going gets tough Young goes missing. He was the same for United all season. I totally agree though. I think young has been very poor in both games, I'd rather see Oxlade-Chamberlain playing on the left. Or push Welbeck out there and bring Rooney in alongside Carroll but i suspect the same lack of cover for Ashley Cole would emerge

the points of Suarez, enrique and agger are not in relation to the subject i'm on which is heart, fight, determination ... Agger and Suarez have that in abundance as for enrique if u think he's one of our best players then we are in trouble! Again Robinson would be my pick for left back ... And for the gerrard lazy comment i'm just gona completely disagree with that he is definitely not lazy, he may come across as lazy on some occasions but you've got to remember he plays a lot of games when he's not fully fit

GCorS - Couldn't agree more, maybe there is a lack of fight, especially without lucas ... for me johnson, enrique, downing and bellamy (moaning constantly at refs and teammates is not showing fight) do not show enough fight on th football pitch, add maxi and henderson to that too

I'm not critisizing players, i will never critisize a liverpool players on skill or ability cos thats not the liverpool way ... But when i think a player doesn't deserve to wear the famous red shirt due to lack of effort, desire and fight thats when i'll start pointing the finger!

In the end we both want the best for LFC so lets hope the whole team improve. Rodgers likes his players to press the opposition when we don't have the ball so anyone who is "lazy" and doesn't buy into this will soon be shown up.

The only way Welbeck, Carroll, and Rooney can all start is if England switch to a 4231, which won't happen. Both Carroll and Welbeck deserve to start against Ukraine, but with the way Roy talked about Rooney means Rooney will play. Personally I'd play Welbeck and Rooney as they link up really well together. Specially if Young does start (not saying he deserves to) and Gerrard as they all seem to link up well with Rooney. England may actually put together some decent attacks that way.

International football isn't club football mano,if Welbeck and pubes head link up well at club level its only also because the Utd midfield link up well with them,as the Utd midfield aint playing against the Ukraine their club form means jack.
Plus Rooney at international level tends to drop deep and is nowhere near the opposition goal when it matters.

Roy should start with the team that finished tonight's game and he should use Rooney as an impact sub.

The ignorance towards Carroll is extremely annoying but I don't have an issue with the 'own goal' bit. The original effort is going wide until it hits Johnson (nothing he could do and he was correctly following his man too). If Johnson had not have touched it then the Swede behind him would have put it in. It is unfortunate but it has to go down as an own goal IMO

Against England it feels like we were the best team, but it isn't always the best team that wins. It is about taking points, and we didn't do that. It doesn't really matter now we are out of the tournament, but we were definitely better than England, but they are leaving with the points, so what can you say?

I'd be inclined to agree with both of them. Sweden were the better team for the most part. Had the greater share of possession, put the most pressure on. That being said, they didn't do an awful lot with it. Both goals were from set pieces, after all.

I don't think either team were better. I thought a draw would have been fair.

Their first was fortunate as it was a deflected shot that landed at the goalscorers feet. Equally, our second and third goals were fortunate too. Walcott's effort was straight down the middle and at least 90% of the time the keeper saves it with ease. I don't believe Welbeck was intending to shoot, IMO he was trying to take a touch before shooting. Even if he was shooting, he didn't intend to shoot with the bottom of his heel!

As it stands (45 mins yet to go), Greece and Russia will qualify from Group A. If the Greeks go through at the expense of the better Polish and Czech teams we'll have the first travesty of Euro 2012. Hopefully we won't have a scoreless draw and one of either Poland or the Czech Republic will go through with Russia. Beware of Greeks being jammy gits!

How's that match, Billy? I'm actually watching the other one. I've watched every Russia game until today, but expected that game to be potentially less interesting. This game is pretty good end to end stuff - fairly even, chance-wise.
