because if denmark were to beat germany each of denmark, portugal and germany would all have 1 better result and 1 worse result. There would be no way it could decide which team would go through. Germany would be ahead of portugal on result against but behind denmark, Denmark would be behind portugal but ahead of germany and portugal would be ahead of denamrk but behind germany. Basically it wouldn't work
 
Predictions today? Little more cut and dried than yesterday but still open

Croatia 1 -3 Spain
Italy 2 - 1 Ireland
 
Quite difficult to decide what I would most like to happen tonight. A draw between Spain and Croatia would mean that we could play Croatia if we finish top. If Croatia win tonight, we'll be wanting to finish 2nd, which would be weird. Whatever happens, I'd much rather we got to play Croatia than Italy, but would definitely prefer Italy to Spain. I have no idea what to hope for here.

It does seem that way. None of the so-called favourites have played as well as expected of them.
 
What is it with the Croatian fans and those bloody flares? Are all Croatians this annoying? Because I might be going there this summer.
