Friday 22nd June... Day 15... Quarter-final... kick off 7.45... Germany v Greece Sauerkraut or Kebab is the order today, and although i do prefer a good ole kebab, well a kofte if im honest, you cant see past the cabbages that are the Germans... I dont think it will be the one sided game that many are predicting. And i see the Greeks trying to do what the Czechs did last night, park the bleedin bus, but i expect ze Germans to get through... As for the Czech's v Portuguese it was no classic knockout game. In fact it was boring. So we should be grateful that a team who actually wanted to win the game went through, and they did thankfully to Rocky Ronaldos goal late on... He seems to be warming to the task now and looks up for dragging his side as far as he can in this tournament. Which is very commendable, as to be honest, the rest of the team arnt exactly helping his cause are they...
I'm going to go for a heart ruling head result Greece 1 Germany 1 (then hope the plates get thrown after a Greek win on pens) Not to hopeful and wouldn't bet on it though!
Living in Berlin I can tell you I'm sick to death of the German arrogance (once again). Listening to half of them, they've already decided they'll be playing Spain in the final and that the Spanish team are "beatable". They think they only have to turn up to win the Quarter Final and Semi Final
Oddy dont you ever get chance to mention Chavski to them... Im sure that would put the Bayern fraternity back in their shell for a second... Oh for the chance to beat them in a big tournament match...!!!
So nothing like the English media at most tournaments then (even now some of them are underestimating Italy). Germany have at least earnt their arrogance.
morning all sat 23th Spain 2-0 France sun 24th England 1-1 Italy england win on penalties CHEERS RED, GLA
Saturday 23rd June... Day 16... Quarter-final... ko 7.45... Spain v France Roija or Beaujolais... Fabregas or Nasri ... Paella or Coq Au Vin... Torres or Benzema...These culinary and football giants go head to head across the football pitch tonight and we should be set for a good game. What makes it more than intriguing is that both teams have to yet really fire on all cylinders but if both do tonight then we could be in for a real treat. My only reservation towards that is the fact the Spanish hardly concede any goals, due to them having the ball all day, and have a very good keeper to get past when you do get in front of goal. But you can get at them as im not a big fan of their defensive qualities if they were to be put under a little period of pressure. Plus with Benzema knowing the back 4 personally then he must know what he has to do to beat them.. As per usual for the Germans they continue on their unbeaten run, 14 games now i think, towards another Euro Final... Only seen the highlights but it did seem the pitch was a bit lob sided with all the action being at one end of the pitch in the 1st half, and strangely the 2nd half followed the same pattern as the 1st...!!! So good luck to all in tonight's match and may we get a classic match from our Euro cousins...
