Aside from the Russians it's been a slow start for most teams. We'll know more once the quarter finals get here. I'd go for Spain, Holland or Germany to win it.
 
I was impressed with Denmark on the ball i thought they kept possesion well and rotated it well just happend they are in a very tough group. Not sure who my underdogs are i said before the tournament Russia will do well if they get out of their group and that looks likely. I think us and France are good contenders, just watching Spain if they play without a striker they won't win this tournament. Italy have looked good to me but, but not enough to put them up there to win it, however Croatia are one i fancy upsetting a few.

thought they looked better when the subs came on. A proper wide player and Torres.
Italy were okay, fair result.
 
I really like Torres. I think he will be a top scorer next season. Might even stick a cheeky ten pence on it :)
 
i like torres and have even backed him to be top scorer, i am encouraged by the fact he got himself into 2 good positions in such a short space of time, that 1st chance was awful tho, looked like a rabbit in a headlight, not a top class striker...
 
He was the only Spanish player to get beyond the Italian back line with a good run bar the goal, and he created a few oppurtunities, can't see that any of them where real sitters either, most of them where from good defending.

The goalie did fantastic, have to disagree with that one. Burley jumped straight in, funniest comment about the 'season he just had' that would be the season when he won the Champions League and FA Cup- he's back to his best just needs a run of games, the movements back.
 
he made it easy for him tho, there was no conviction, keeper was miles out, 2 years ago hed have walked around him and made him look daft
i think if he keeps picking him and he keeps making the runs he will still score, depends how many chances the coach gives him tho. and nobody would be happier then me, ive got 160 quid riding on it...<ok>
 
Am i the only one who keepers hiring a whistle in the Ireland game? Really annoying i thought the game had stopped for the Irish equaliser.

Cracking game though, Ireland look the opposite of what they normally do good in attack but defensively poor. But Croatia are a very good side.

missed 1st goal answering the door to the takeaway man, and the second goal having a piss..
 
I was discussing Torres with my brother during the game in my weekly visit to the parents.

Still short on confidence for me, but me and the bro agree that if he bags one soon he'll go on and get a few.

I got Italy in my work sweepstake and they look pretty decent, fingers crossed.

Enjoying the tournament quite a bit now, just hope England can provide some more joy, a la '96!
