I think we may see a fair few UKIP MPs trying to worm their way back into the Tory party now that their one issue party is now largely defunct.

So what's in it for the Tories to merge with them other than to align with a party that attracts the dregs of far right society?

I don't think they will merge, there's no need for the Tories to do that. They might attract a few more of their members though now that UKIP are basically meaningless.

You also swerved the FACT, that we had more immigrants from outside the EU in 2015 than from within it.

If they do merge then I think most will join the Tories. It doesn't matter so much about the members but more about the voters. Some may drift back to Labour but given the state of Labour they may see that as pointless. If the Conservatives are showing that they are now serious about Brexit I would think they would pick up a lot of votes from UKIP. It's better than waiting for the Labour Party to split and UKIP voters choosing the new party. It's not like voters need to make a decision immediately though but it's better to form a super-party while Labour is in disarray and other parties are meaningless.

Ukips's official General Election candidates have been caught posting racist and offensive material on the internet, revealing disturbing links between Nigel Farage's prospective MPs and far-Right groups.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal that at least six Ukip candidates have circulated or endorsed material from the British National Party and other nationalist splinter groups with racist neo-Nazi agendas.

Ukip last night launched an investigation into the offensive media found by this newspaper that included a racist BNP cartoon depicting violent stereotypes of black people, Muslims and Sikhs, and online links to extremist groups Britain First, English Defence League and Infidels of Britain.
