No matter what else people say, him and his blond assistant have had a bigger impact on the European stage than just about anyone since the little Austrian fella, that held the diametrically opposed view to him on Europe.

Quick reminder that the Tory party is not currently a shambles as Two Kitchen Pete said so.

Tory grandee Ken Clarke has launched a stinging attack on Michael Gove, urging him to 'do us all a favour' and bow out of the Tory leadership battle.

The former chancellor said there was no 'trust' for the Justice Secretary after his dramatic betrayal of Boris Johnson yesterday.

... always had time for Ken (might not share his political views but he always spoke sense without descending to classroom antics) ... and he's got this one on the money ...

Austria's presidential run-off election must be held again, court rules

Austria's presidential run-off election must be held again, the country's Constitutional Court has ruled.

The decision will give the anti-immigration Freedom Party's narrowly defeated candidate Norbert Hofer another chance to become the first far-right head of state in the European Union.

Mr Hofer lost the May 22 vote to former Greens leader Alexander Van der Bellen by less than one percentage point, with postal ballots having tipped the balance in Van der Bellen's favour.

Witnesses told the court of irregularities in the way the count was carried out, including the processing of postal ballots sooner than they should have been.

The court said it was using its strict standard on the application of election rules.
