May and Boris are elected MPs.

It may not be right to the Inners, but they need to get the brexit started on ASAP and a GE may stop that, against the will of the people.
Do you think that the Outers are happy that the next PM will be chosen by a handful of people? What percentage of the population do you think will have ended up selecting Johnson, May or whoever it is as their next PM?

They are panicking now - like a lot of people - but once they calm down and get on with things they will realise that a free trade deal without freedom of movement is in everybody's best interests.
It was funny - I was watching a German politician saying that "you can't cherry pick" and refer to freedom of movement as an "obligation". She realises that in lots of circumstances it's not a good idea.
If there's two countries with wildly different standards of living then it is obvious that people from the poorer country will want to live and work in the richer country. Is it sensible to allow this? When the EU consisted of countries of relatively similar standards of living it wasn't a problem. Same with the Euro. It's messed up the poorer countries.

You're dreaming!! Seeing what you want to see. If you really think the EU are going to bend over that easily, you've got a big wake up call coming!

Same with labour if the ball was on the other foot. also Tory membership get the final vote.

He was always going to lose any election because he was incompetent.
I get the impression that you're far right Pete....!

Out of interest, do you not think it's a bit hypocritical that you want to close the borders given you're married to a Polish girl? Or is your view that you've got what you want from life and society so **** the rest?

That's not what I asked Custard. You have a habit of making sweeping generalisations and then when asked to back them up you either deflect or post a meme. Why is that?

Or maybe he want control of our borders,. The influx we are now getting is too many to fast for us to cope with.

How come Lichtenstein are part of the EEA but dont have to accept freedom of movement from the EU?

So we should seek to emulate Lichtenstein? Think that'll work? As a negotiating tactic maybe?

"But, but, but...Lichtenstein"

Even people who live in Lichtenstein don't even know where the **** it is. Howabout Andorra, shall we follow them?

You see things in very simplistic terms dont you? I think this is why you are having difficulty with what is happening now.

We had to go through a vetting process. I had to prove I could support her and it was a serious marriage. I don't see what is wrong with that. It's a lot better than letting people turn up and live under flyovers and beg on the streets which is what is happening now. I'm more than happy for the country to decide who they want to enter the country.

He wants control now that it suits him.

He also wants free trade.

He seems to want a lot of things but he won't get them all as the EU isn't going to base their future policy on the wishes of a hypocritical accountant from Hull who defected to the south 40 years ago!

If our economy is as doomed as some people say, and the EU is so good, why would people want to pass through the EU to get here anyway?

My old man's an immigrant and he has similar "I'm alright Jack" views to you so I don't see things in simplistic terms at all.

I know where it is. I've been there. It's one if the world's most secretive financial centres. Tax dodgers and money launderers paradise. Although as they mostly come under Swiss control, they've had to tighten a bit - but it's a tax haven. Nothing more.
