I clicked on that "fuming" link. It led nowhere. Very disappointed. I was hoping it would link to a hidden Vol website chock-full of malice and bitterness.

bury is his home town. he'd have picked that.

i wonder if he was given the option of going to one of the other network clubs? can you imagine that? - "here's a 5 year deal lad, good work, oh, by the way, your off to hungary for a bit. dont drink the water".

If he thinks he is going back to his home town in rural Suffolk he is in for a shock. The other Bury is a squalid suburb of Manchester known for black puddings and the founder of the Conservative Party.

Both towns are probably of interest to Ponders though. Plenty of history!

If they train him up as well as they did Kiely, we are in for a treat!

I have totally changed my mind about Roland and his network. When he first took over i was seduced by his fortune and i was happy to see the chuckle brothers go. He has done some good things like the pitch and getting players like Vetokele and Gudmundsson . But he seems to want us to succeed on the cheap.Lessons don't seem to be learnt. **** recycled is still ****.We had all these network players coming in last January and that didn't work, now we are going down the same road. We need some serious investment. Also if RD is serious about the Academy, get a Manager in who knows how to handle them by playing them in their correct positions.

If (and it's a big if) Pope had gone out to get a bit of confidence back, it would be a good move. However, this sounds like he's being prepared to be removed permanently. Not good. Years of development, scuppered by a couple of mistakes. I do wonder whether having the fans on his back may be making him want to leave (I'm judging that on an earlier post that 'his uncle said he probably won't be back'). In return we have a posible new Thuram to enjoy. I don't wish to pre judge someone I'd never heard of before yesterday, but given some of our recent transfer activity, I'll happily pre judge that, by saying we seem to have a scouting network that buys the players before the scouts have seen them. I know we're tier two, but these players are often not up to the push and shove of the Championship. Why not stick with Pope?

Since Pope signed a 4-year deal in the summer, Roland must be thinking that he'll get a few pennies for him next summer. Mind you, we gave away Morrison for free!
