Neil Warnock, hell bent on never retiring, stands between City and 6th position. Why on Earth he commuting the length of England is beyond me but he appears to be working his magic on Boro (I sense that a large amount of ££££ is going to be spent of Gary Madine in the summer window <laugh>)

We have finally reached the 2 game mark (just a little bit later than usual) -

DIV I
  • Since the restart @ninian opinion's form has been a wobbly imitation of what it was previously and he has slowly seen his once commanding lead eroded. Thanks to a sly last minute change of prediction, the MIGHTY BLUE SHEEP has pounced and would have gone top if it wasn't for Ninian's point for Tomlin's goal (damn!). Neither have won the Championship title before - who we will come out top in this battle of predicting wills? <yikes>
  • @BluefromBridgend has spent most of the season in a relegation dogfight but back to back CS's against Fulham and Deby have lifted him well clear of that.
  • The answer to my piece of trivia from a while ago is that @ccfcremotesupport has never been relegated from the top flight. He might have his work cut out this time as he currently occupies the remaining relegation place. It’s almost a straight shootout with @irishbluebird, who himself is facing a straight return to Div II, but @Barry Tiger could yet become involved if results don’t go his way.
  • Unsurprisingly, @taffthefish is relegated. Promoted very much against the odds last season, this campaign has been a struggle and was looking very much at a straight return even before the lockdown.
DIV II
  • The top places of the 2nd tier have swapped places a fair amount. For a while it was @BrizzleBluebird who led the division but he was finally undone on Tuesday night when all of his competitors got CS’s. It is now the wily @william5551 and youthful (<laugh>) @clingo who are set for automatic promotion but @FrankfurterBlue, hunting a top tier return, could yet changed things again.
  • @Oldsparkey briefly flirted with the notion of automatic promotion but looks set for another Playoff campaign.
  • Can @mustyfrog overhaul @blueturk the cat for the final Playoff spot? Just a point now separates the two...

I seriously need a good week here so will take my time, go crunch some numbers, try find some probability data and check weather reports etc. before predicting.

Gut instinct alone isn't going to get me back in the top two where I belong.
Time to be guided by "the science"...

Seems to have served Her Majesty's Government well so far.

OK, it's still uncomfortably early for me to be making this prediction as my chaps are NASA are behind on getting me their assessment. Gave me some lame excuse about staff working from home due to COVID-19.

Middlesbrough also wouldn't confirm the length of their grass so that's also thrown in another factor.

Going Boro 1-1 City.

Mendez for City.

Thanks Mr Blue Sheep.

Have you got any intel on the behaviour of the ball given the lateness in the year and the height of the sun in the sky and whether the ball cools down during the drinks break? Could make the difference between coming back off the post and going in.

Seeing how scientific brizzle is, I realise I'm just guessing.

So, 2-0 to us. Going to stick with morrison.

I'm dubious about this one. Warnock being there must be a factor and we'll be hard pressed to come back with anything more tham a point.

I'l still go for the win - the ref is bound to give a penalty given against Warnock - I can see him seething on the touchline....<laugh>

Boro 0 - 1 City with Ralls getting that penalty.

Hoping for a win as we will need it - 2-1 with Morrison at last getting his head onto one of those crosses.
