Eight months <ok>

I can't see any logical reason that he shouldn't be given the same. The chav board are saying it was a light tap and such like, but try doing that to a child in a different profession, say a teacher at school.

My bet is he gets a 3 game ban and thats it.

Don't know if you saw I edited my last post so I'll put it here too...

Cantona got nine months. The fan that abused him got a seven day prison sentence for threatening language and behaviour too. If Hazard is punished then the ball boy should be too for deliberately interfering in a professional sporting event.

It all depends on the media! if they make a big deal out of it which i assume they will, he will get more than 3 games, I recon 5-8. Barton got a 12 match ban last year for trying to take out the whole city team, I don't think this is as bad, but then again he's not English.

Its a shame for Swansea as now when anybody thinks of the 2013 league cup, it will just be of this incident! unless Bradford win it of course.

As interesting to see the level of foaming at the mouth there will be in the media (I actually doubt it looking at journo's on twitter: very similar to here: "silly idiot" etc but what on earth was the ball nearly a man doing: its professional sport not down the park before he mugs a granny.)

while I know exactly what reaction there would have been on here & out there if it had been Suarez (deported for sure!) I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say I want the same ludicrous frenzy to somehow show an equality of hysteria.

Not only has the little or not so little get interfered with the game , he's faked an injury. . Do Swansea instruct their ball "boys" to time waste in which case they should be fined.

Clearly an attempt to poke the ball out from under him by hazard. Daft for trying it, ref was always going to play safe & send him off. Should have sent the ball bollox from the ground too.

The police actually wasted a small amount of time on this nonsense before the little bastard said he wouldn't press charges. Might still waste some time if enough complaints come in from outraged citizens.

He's lucky Cloughs not still about or he'd have marched up the line and put him over his knee lol....

Who cares about Swansea - they'll only be fodder for the mighty Bradford!

I'm just saying it will be a shame if they win there first ever(major) trophy and they get ridiculed for needing the ball boy to get some one sent off.
I for one think they deserve a bit of success and ffs they need something for the trophy cabinet in there honours they list the years they qualified for the cup winners cup.

There are reports circulating that even our Ball Boys keep the ball well..........................

Sorry, can't agree. As far as I'm concerned their trophy cabinet can remain a dark dusty hole and I don't see why I should support them. Traditionally in this country we have supported the underdog and therefore our sympathies should rest with Bradford.

yep the BBC has linked us to the incident! It took them long enough

Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher told BBC Radio 5 live: "There was a precedent when Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was sent off for throwing a coin into the crowd against Arsenal at Highbury in 2002.

Hardly the same, as Carra's actions could be described as litter picking, and a charitable donation, he didn't receive any further punishment after apologizing though.

Think Hazard should apologise, the kid does the same, Hazard serves out his ban as a deterrent for future altercations, and the kid doesn't get to be a ball boy for a few games too.

I think they both apologised to each other, I'd leave it at that. If it were a Liverpool player I'm sure we would find SOME justification for it, any clubs fans would. This doesn't reflect on Chelsea, Swansea, Hazard or the ball boy overall. It was passionate heat of the moment frustration. Hazard is still young and while supposed to be a professional we know how hard it is to tolerate this from the stands let alone in person.

As for the Suarez links I cringe when we talk about it. We cant criticise the media for linking him to this if we start doing it ourselves.

I have just sat and watched an interview on bbc breakfast with pat nevin about the hazard incident last night and I am totally disgusted by his attitude.
He absolutely refused to accept that hazard was in anyway responsible. He said the ball boy actions actions were disgusting (!) and basically said that hazard was quite entitled to give him a good kick in the ribs.
Don't know if anyone else saw this but you should try and catch it. It's gobsmacking in its ignorance and bias. He refused to let the interviewer get a word in,accusing the bbc of only showing camera angles that made it look worse than it was and that the ball boy was feigning injury . In fact the camera angle he wanted to see ,when it was shown, makes the incident look worse yet his reaction to it was that hazard had not kicked the boy just the ball.
Shocking.!

wonder if it had been as acceptable if Suarez had done this, sadly we know the answer to that one.

lets see if the FA will be as tough on this as they allegedly want to be with racism, very unprofessional from Hazard, but then the ball boy knew what he was doing as well.

I don't think what the all boy did was disgusting at all.

However Hazard was rightly sent off but that should be the end of the matter in my opinion (regardless of what happened to Cantona). I think he kicked the ball <ok>
