Sorry mate I don’t believe this there’s something going on here. How can the biggest profile trainer in the country have a long list of high profile horses not vaccinated. As Nicholls said they have there’s done every January as does every professional yard I know.

That’s a bit like saying The Queen does her own dusting!

When do they declare re tomorrow’s racing, incidentally??? Wondering when we will finally get to see these field sizes.

They did theirs in the summer, because it’s an annual vaccine in their book.

  7. Makes perfect sense doesn't it? If horses can react badly to it then make sure the winter season runners have it when they're not running.

Exactly, then the BHA shift the goalposts. I’d be furious if I had planned to run a horse at Ascot this weekend.

Yes but they. Only have to be vaccinated once a year not every six months.

Surely in that case his horses can’t run at the festival.

He has to vaccinate again. Then a seven day period before running again. James Millman explains it nicely in the RP story on this.

Also whilst on the subject. If that’s the case.whats going to happen with Irish horses coming over for the festival? Will they have to be vaccinated or boosted before entry?

This epidemic is putting a cloud over the festival for me. It’s a question of trust in the sport.

The 6 month ruling is interesting. I wonder how they came up with that. Was it that all 10 affected horses thus far had been vaccinated in excess of six months ago?

  18. A horse whose trainer knows won't be running until October so has time to get it out of its system. If he was the only one then it may be a bit suss but I'm getting the impression he isn't by any stretch of the imagination.

Are you sure Nass? If he has to have the 2 stage vaccination the 2nd stage has to be at least 21 days after the first one. Maybe they just need the one. Even then I doubt they would actually be racing a week later. Just going on past experience; maybe things have changed.
