One swallow and all that etc.....

I've said it before that the home performances have been pretty good so far, its the apparent lack of effort in the away games that causing a lot of the problems, and that is down to Harold......

I expect us to have a real good go at Villa and if we get a bit of luck we could give them a bit of a tonking......However how we set up and play Chelsea will be more interesting and could be back to square 1 if we roll over as we have at Spurs, Utd and WHU....

Hang bloddy on a minute in what world did we play well yesterday? More like Liverpool didn't turn up and yet they carved us to pieces on the counter

We certainly played better than a few of the other matches without doubt

How can anyone on here think that if we play like that we will get anywhere … does anyone on here understand football.

It was crazy stuff … no doubt exciting to watch and listen to. We got good praise from the radio and we maybe deserved a draw against a very out of sorts Liverpool team but we got nothing for it

The next game we must win. Usually I take as many positives i can out of our games but sorry lads that was a mad game yesterday and nowhere near the required standard.

I will thank Harold if he masterminds himself first then hopefully our team

    Oh dear

Only a few think that the next game is a "must win". they are the same few that want HR gone and Adel back

does anyone understand football...yep those of us who know France are a spent force, adel is up to it and Liverpool are still a top 6 team...do.

unfortunatlely, the Brie and cab sav has gone to your heard mate. more time in avignon and less in Bordeux would be my suggestion..

    FYI. love Avingnon !

After making quite a witty comment, you then follow it up with what I expect from a Massive fan.

Think of the dream partnership that you missed out on. Bates & Redknapp.

That would have been a marriage to rival any that Risdale suffered!

It might not be a must win but we'll need some points from somewhere soon. Lose that and again to Chelsea and City (collectively, we seem resigned to games against such teams) and we're looking at 4 points from 11. That would be bordering on the same return from opening fixtures that saw us whimper out of the league last time (and even Hughes had his day with the game against Spurs that tops yesterday's performance).

We're almost adrift now and I don't think our confidence would recover if all three games were pointless. That said, if we applied ourselves as we did yesterday and I'd be confident of some points out of any of those games (although I wouldn't be able to predict which).

Basically, more of the same and it'll be good.

    That said

Not only was Harry throwing towels about, he got the hairdryer out too (at last):

    QUOTE
Queens Park Rangers squad were on the wrong end of a Harry Redknapp rollicking, according to Karl Henry.

Queens Park Rangers remain in an early relegation fight after their 3-2 loss to Liverpool, however, the manner in which they lost their match in west London this weekend upset manager Harry Redknapp.

Chile striker Eduardo Vargas twice equalised for Queens Park Rangers, at 1-1 and then again at 2-2, yet the home time continually failed to hold on to a result as Steven Caulker was at fault for diverting the ball into his own goal, as Liverpool escaped the Capital with maximum points.

“Harry was not happy,” said midfielder Karl Henry to The Express, who went on to intimate that Redknapp dished out some hairdryer treatment. “He was shouting at us of course - we threw it away. It was naive from us, unprofessional. It can't happen.

“Someone said in the dressing room that it wouldn't have even happened in an Under-11s game. The goals we conceded were shocking. How were we unprofessional? Like with the first goal. They take a quick free kick and we were asleep. It was ridiculous.

“Then having them break on us for the second goal, running out of their box quicker than we did. You cross the ball and it drops in their box and it's not possible that they have four of five bodies in our box and we're not with them. That shouldn't be possible.

“Then when you get to 2-2 late on in the game - you don't concede. But we dropped the free kick short rather than run it in the stand or making it sure it's long, in the corner, somewhere else.

“Everyone in the dressing room was really disappointed afterwards," Henry said. "We were extremely disappointed in ourselves - we let ourselves down.

“We played well for large parts of the game, to come in with no points is a joke. But we only have ourselves to blame. UNQUOTE

My immediate reaction was that yesterday's performance may have saved Harry his job, for a week or so, and I got no problem if that is the situation. If we keep playing with that much effort it will be a big plus, but he also needs to get Adel on board, and tactics and team organisation clear if he's going to get us up the table before January, when it may well be too late.

Erm am I missing something here? As far as I'm aware "Wherever" is an R's fan through and through, not sure where the Massive reference comes from?

I fear you are letting your immense hatred of Redknapp cloud your judgement Paul.

I was there yesterday and while naivety cost us any points, it was far and away our best performance under Redknapp imo.

Sorry Tramore. I obviously got it wrong.

It was his reference to not getting words like that used on the Leeds board so I assumed he was a massive fan & didn't even look at the user name. It was still a very witty comment!

Cheers Tramore, just read that, now Terryb I've been called many things, I can take most abuse but an Effin' Leeds fan. How did you work that out and I want answers, I know where you live. That last bit was a joke mods, infact while I am talking to the mods, ban Terryb, I think he is a Chelsea fan.

    Wherever,

What can I say? My most humble apologies.

As I replied to Tramore, I thought it was a very witty reply & stupidly thought that the comment on the Leeds board made you an educated Massive fan!

Still stand by my comment though that a partnership of Bates & Redknapp for them would have been a marriage made in heaven for the rest of football!

Will now go & sit on the naughty step.

No worries, the thought of Bates and Rednaff at Leeds bought a smile to my face, I also like the idea of an educated Leeds fan.

Respect Queens for a well argued point of view. And for what it's worth I am delighted to acknowledge how much better the performance was. Not quite ready to give Redknapp the credit for it though. It's taken 8 games for the team to play as though they want to win a match and guess what? Taarabt aside, Redknapp did what everyone else has told him to do. He played Yun and Onuoha when it is clear he does not actually rate them. He dropped Ferdinand who as we all know he rates and nobody else does. Before we all rush to praise him for his genius, let's remember we all got there some time ago. I'll be interested to know who actually made the decision as we already know that the masterstroke at Wembley (to sub Hill instead of Hoilett) was forced on him by his captain.

As others have said already, if he can build on that (I'm tempted to say instead of wasting his time trying to persuade the world that Taarabt is the root of all our evils) I might be inclined to forgive him eventually. Let's see if he can build on that performance over the next 30 games. For now all I'm prepared to say is that it was a good start on the road to safety.

Agreed Yorkie, and it may be the fact that he picked that formation out of luck and not judgement. We can only judge what we've seen so I agree we need to see that team and that desire again. If we play like that for the rest of the season we will be ok, and if w do go down, thenit will have been with a decent team that tried and were not quite good enough.

Villa should be intresting and i hope someone has said to him that we need at least a repeat performance in the effort dept.

He may of couse completely screw up the team selection and tactics, and that will show him up for what many believe he is. I dont care how he got the right team together but I do want to see if he has the ability to keep them playing like they did and pick the correct players in the correct positions. I think we'll find out very soon mate and it wont need 30 games!<ok>
