EPL 25 Man squad lists

I think to be classed as a 'home-grown' player has to be have been trained at the club (or in fact at any English or Welsh club recognised by their respective FAs) for 3 years prior to their 21st birthday. So, despite being born in Italy, he is classed as home-grown.

All those players on there but only 4 teams filled their 25 man squad, makes a bit of a mockery of the rules for me (Stoke, Sunderland, QPR, and Spurs)

Only because plenty of teams have quality players of under 21. You technically only have the register 15, it was a surprise to me that Arsenal needed 22 spaces.

From Scratching Shed blog:

Below is a list of notable exclusions courtesy of Andrew Haigh from The Sun;

Danny Collins
Tom Soares
Danny Pugh
Michael Tonge
Patrick Agyemang
Rob Hulse
Petter Vaagan Moen
Hogan Ephraim
Danny ****tu

That will be the reason why despite playing for England Owen Hargreaves isn't classed as "home-grown".

I'd love Rob Hulse.

You'd love the Rob Hulse of a few years ago, not the current one.

Back to the list, Vaagen-Moen might have been worth a look if we didn't seem to have almost as many central midfielders as we've got players for the rest of the team combined.

Have Man City not left anyone out this year though? I know they've only named 24 players but it's one of the 'reserved for homegrown' spaces they've left unfilled so there could be non-homegrown players available.

soares would make a massive difference to our team. We need a box-to-box so bad. In the first half today till we removed TC from the theatre of battle, George Boyd was the perfect example and the very type of player we need. Soares is the only player who fits the bill from that list

ah ok no.1. Let's have that world beater, Jamie Devitt back instead? Hmmm!!

By the way, ferriby on wednesday?

I'm quite happy with Devitt getting a full season of first team football under his belt elsewhere, how about giving Evans a go? (we should have Stewart back in a month or so anyway)

I'm in London on Tues/Wed/Thurs this week, so I can't make Ferriby, unfortunately.
