Just found this - a list of the fixtures Coutinho is likely to miss which doesn't look too bad:

    21 Southampton (H)
25 Capital One Cup third round
    28 Sunderland (A)

    OCTOBER5
    Crystal Palace (H)
    19 Newcastle United (A)

  5. He'd probably be rested for the cup game anyway. Unfortunately, I think these are the games that we need Ford for, he is a tricky little player that can unlock things. The better sides attack move leaving space for us to exploit anyway, the so-called lesser teams normally defend first.

Has to be Hendo in AM role and Moses on one side and Aspas/Sterling/Ibe on the other. When Suarez is back, drop him in the hole behind Sturridge or could go a 4-4-2/4-2-4 with Moses and Sterling out wide.

Getting back on topic.....it might not be a bad time to give young Joe another go looking at the fixtures. As sceptical as I am it would be a bonus in terms of squad strength to have JA playing better.

Is it worth dropping Hendo though? That is what worries me as I would rather have hendo on form and think he brings more. Think we should look to get Aspas going really.

Henderson is improving constantly. He should not be dropped under any circumstances.

No, I agree mate.. if (big if) I was to bring Allen in for Cout this weekend and for the cup game then if (another big if) he played well I'd keep him in. Give Hendo, Stevie and Lucas a rest over the games that followed.

I'm not his biggest fan but if Rodgers can get a half decent player out of him he will prove useful. Guess we have to test him again sometime eh.

I don't know what we will need to get him going but he has been really awful so far.

Willing to give the lad Aspas a chance.. the pace of the game seems to pass him by right now, he needs to get in the gym, beef up a bit and get up to speed of the game here, from what I've seen of him, he's got the ability technically.
But give him time, he's only played 3/4 times?

Luis Alberto can play number 10 ten too and he scored a hatrick for the under 21's. Might be his time to shine.

If Aspas/Allen/whoever is given the chance, they must be aware that they have maximum of 2 games to stake their claim to a first 11 spot. With Suarez coming back, there is one less space available and there is no way that Henderson (who has been very good) deserves to be replaced by whoever with no form justification. I think Moses will be favoured for one of the wing spots and will improve as his fitness improves. This means very limited opportunities for bench players to suggest taking a place. Let's hope they can rise to the occasion.
