I'm not sure I do agree, in ideal world I'd have liked all those players to still be here to be honest. I accept why the club has had to move them on because we have serious debts and an owner who would like to recoup some money. I think Jose probably doesn't but he's not the one who's lost the fortune Ashley has by getting involved. That's footballers I suppose, they aren't the brightest. His comments don't really cause any problem though, and he will be asked regularly about Newcastle because he was here a long time, understands the clubs and whats going on. You can go either way but he was always going to comment at some stage for me, that's the nature of football. I'm just glad he has kept the meat of the story in house to not reopen any wounds. I honestly think he has not caused any heartache with his comments. I think its unrealistic to expect him to say nothing at all about his time here and his departure with the press vultures on his case every week. He's thrown them a bone for me, without the meat on.

I don't like whats happened to our club but there are a million reasons why we are where we are financially. The current regime and the previous few have all played their part. So while I accept what is going, I'm also acutely aware that part of the reason for it is this bungling regime. I'm not that bothered about transfers though I do understand the importance. Plenty clubs are worse off up and down the country, particularly in the lower leagues.

I just hope for better owners and better days in the future, and believe our luck has to turn at some stage! Quite happy to just accept this is all part of the life cycle of a club, things are not always as we the fans would like them. We're ok and I still have a club to support so that'll do me.

I'm sure when (and I think we will) we sign a new LB and striker, everyone in the squad will be pretty happy with the talent at our disposal. We've got a good mix of youth and experience, and of blood&guts and creativity. The 2 new signings when made will enhance that and I'll be happy. Come Jan we can always sign a good player to cover defense which is all w'll need really until next summer.
