Have you got any kids coming through who are maybe close to game time at left back?

It's a horrid position to buy in, Warnock is the best option about really, but he's back in favour under McLeish, you really struggle after that.

Ferguson was our main guy for that. He's turned into a very impressive young player. He was originally labelled as a left back. However, he has the frame of a 13 year old boy, which makes him very quick and nippy on the wings, where he's had his success in the first team towards the end of the season. He would be a waste at left back and require some serious beefing up.

There's Tamas Kadar who is another left back youngster, but I don't think he's ready yet. Overall, there's nothing available to replace anywhere near the same quality as Enrique offered.

I think we'll look abroad again. We put in two bids for M'Bengue which were rejected, but we may go in for him again (or someone else). I don't think the UK currently has any players who fit our buying policy.

Would love Baines, but it ain't gonna happen in a million years.

Baines is the best in the league IMO, i could see him at Arsenal, easily.

Don't know anything about M'Bengue, who's he play for?

M'Bengue is highly rated, plays for Toulouse.

I personally think Enrique is better than Baines, and could well become the best left back in the league. I personally think he is nearly there but doesn't get the credit as he plays for a club in the NE.

I would be annoyed if Ashley sold for less than £10m.

I can't agree with that mate.

I do rate Enrique, but i think Baines overall offers more, Jose shades it defensively, but Baines offers so much going forward and creating space, i think he's the best in the league.

I'm going to be honest and say I don't pay much attention to Baines, probably swings my decision.

What would you rate Enrique at? Take into account what teams are paying for players at the moment.

Taking into account his age, and the fact that left back is THE hardest position to fill, i'd say he's worth around the £10million mark, if his contract was longer, maybe £12million.

I think you'll sell for less than that though, you have to admit that he wasn't flawless last season, but he was one of the best in the league overall.

I think Fat Mike would deal around £6-7million, especially after 'twittergate'.

That would just raise his profile as the worlds biggest mug.

Canny interview with Wes Brown on SSN. He just wants to play football, that's why he had to move. Says he should be playing in the rest of your pre-season games and will be fit for Liverpool. You never know, he may pick up a slight groin strain at Liverpool ruling him out for the week later :)

I'm reserving judgement on Brown, i'd say he's the signing i'm least inspired by in all honesty, but there's no question he's 'good enough'.

I'd imagine he's likely to play right back, with Bardo left and O'Shea and Titus in the middle.

I'd prefer Bardo right back and Ricco left, I think Ricco's pace will be better for checking Jonas runs.

Me too, just hope he proves my doubts wrong, sure he will.
