One of many Munster. The same people love it when people sign and in their first interview say "I'm so happy to join such a big club like Newcastle" I find it all embarassing and think it does nothing to make us an attractive option for other players.

We'll have to agree to disagree because I do not believe for a second he owes us. He's outgrown us and needs to move on. If you think players are just happy to write off their career out of love for a club, you're fool. They have short careers and like us need to make the correct moves to make the most of their careers. He's moved to a much bigger club with much more ambition. No harm in that and no harm in saying so when you do.

We'll agree to disagree: I don't think he's outgrown us, and no-one will know one way or the other until the end of the season. He went for more money, plain and simple, he has absolutely no idea how well we would have done this season once we have all the new players in, and with him still here.

I'm sure I read that he took a pay cut to sign for Liverpool.

    I'll try and find it.

How can you suggest he has not outgrown us? He's one of the best left backs around and needs to be playing at a top club, that's what top players do. Liverpool are a massive club who are an absolute certainty to do a lot better than us this season, and barring some kind of minor miracle you can pretty much guarantee we'll be nowhere near the European places. And that is even allowing for another freak season like last which won't happen. Went for the money, don't make laugh, that's just embararring to suggest that. He was already earning a fortune. He'll be well paid there, better than he was here I'd imagine, but that's what happens when you take a massive step up.

He's been a loyal servant. He left because he has ambition and our club doesn't.

He never lied to us. He said he loved the fans but wanted to progress as a player and that the current policies meant that Newcastle would never challenge for the top 6 while Ashley was here.

He'll be entitled to a Les Ferdinand/Nobby Solano cheer from me whenever he's at St James

As I said, he has no idea how we will do this season with the new players, and with him in the team, so he is just hazarding a guess. With the players they have brought in obviously you would assume Liverpool will do better than us, but there are no guarantees. Gerrard might not play, Carroll might break a leg, who knows?

Will he ****, the massive difference between Sir Les and Nobby is that they didn't ask to leave.

This is getting laughable. I can clear this mystery up for you no problem. Liverpool will be challenging for the top 6 (they finished 7th last year after an appalling start) barring a minor catastrophe. We will be, with or without Enrique, be most likely mid to lower table barring a minor miracle. Top half at best if we get a striker and a left back. Its not ****ing rocket science. Sure football doesn't always go to plan but the league pretty much takes the same shape every year. the only way to change that is massive investment. We have invested nothing so we can't expect to progress much. Indeed in normal circumstances you'd go backwards but we have been quite cute with our purchases and I think we'll stay about the same, possibly improve a little if we get the two signings. Liverpool have invested probably heavier than expected given last seasons finishing position, but thats because they want to regain their spot amongst this countries elite. On that basis Enrique has made a very good move to a much bigger club with much higher ambitions.

Its like horse racing they're are no guarantees when you place your bet. But the you never see a poor bookie because its easy to predict what the odds should be in most cases and they set them accordingly.

Well, Les turned down a chance to come back. Nobby "didn't have to go" to use the phrase constantly employed about Carroll.

We have no complaint about Enrique. He's been at least as loyal to us as we would have ben to him. If we had become a better team than he was a left back, we would have got rid of hime without a second thought. He has become a better left back than we are a club. No reason for him to be more loyal to us than we woudl have ben to him.

He did well for us while he was here. He left with dignity. No one has a justified complaint, and I rather like him.

So yes, I'll give him a cheer. You can do what you like

I appreciate what he did for us but once that 1st whistle goes I think all opposition should b booed, and with regards to sticking with us at our 'lowest ebb' not so sure he would of done had he looked like a premiership player those 1st 2 seasons before the relegation, think he needed that year in championship as a bit of a kick up the arse to be honest with you

All opposition players should be booed ? Why, on the basis that they have the bad manners not to play for us ?

I can remember Zola being apllauded off the pitch just for being a class act. Kluiver too, when he still played for Barcelona. It's what grown ups do
