I know some on here believe Mr Garner is heading in the right direction with what he is trying to achieve at the club, and I fully respect that. Personally however, enough is enough and I think we need to get shot now. It was either a very brave or a very foolhardy experiment by the club to change what was a resilient and successful team, and try to create something totally different. All because what we had 'wasn't sustainable in the long term' apparently. Who says it wouldn't be? How do we know it wouldn't be sustainable? The two maxims I have always believed in are ' If it works, leave well alone', and 'If it isn't working, change it'. We had no reason to change things so drastically, even though GC forced our hand with his sudden departure, but to deliberately alter a team that was winning games, whether they were overachieving or not, and try to implement Barcelona style football with an average squad of 1st division players, was absolutely ridiculous. Now we have a team that couldn't win a raffle, are in freefall down the table, and if Tranmere keep picking up points, could well swap places with us! Its hard to see us getting many, if any more points this season, and we are at the stage now that Garner HAS to go! He's had 19 or 20 games now if you include cup games, and won 1 game - yes that's ONE game from 20 odd! He comes across as a nice bloke, but nice blokes don't win games, goals and points do, and our current team don't have either of them, so its time for a change asap. It doesn't matter who we appoint for now, nobody could do any worse than winning 1 in 20, and if there are no immediate takers, I believe next doors cat is free until May. Things can only improve!!

I think everybody is pretty much in agreement now, he has to go, he is just not capable enough to manage a professional football club, I reckon he is our Ali Dia !
Therefore who do we bring in ? A lot of people would say it might be a gamble with just ten or so games to go but in our current predicament I would disagree, it has to be done and done now or who knows where we might finish up with the likes of Ipswich, Sunderland, Peterborough and Pompey on the horizon. We need a tough hombre now, someone who can get our sorry bunch of players motivated and prepared to fight for all points that remain on this current seasons table because at the moment it would appear that they have simply just downed tools. The Shrimpers had had 84 goals pumped past them up until today and we could only muster just one against their three, we must be the laughing stock of the division again this evening, it is laughable if it wasn’t so embarrassing!

On the Quest EFL programme, Neil Warnock who was one of the pundits said that Garner had worked for him as a coach. Warnock said that Garner was a good coach, but management is very different and Garner needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and think about how he needs to approach this job differently. Hardly a vote of confidence from someone who has worked with Garner in the past. It looks very much as though Garner is completely out of his depth. Coughlan didn't get us playing attractive football, but he was quite effective with the players we have. Under Garner, we're seeing lots of stupid mistakes and not much pattern to the way the team plays. He's obviously trying out new things on the training ground which, at this stage of the season seems ridiculous, particularly when the players clearly aren't buying into the changes. He should have come in, steadied the ship, made a few tweaks and then used next pre season to try to get the players playing his way. He's proving to be a complete disaster to be honest. I think we've got some pretty good players who should be able to get a result against most sides in this league, but you just can't see this happening under Garner.

I think after Saturday’s result he is now officially Rovers most unsuccessful manager and with Sunderland and Ipswich up next I can’t really see too much improvement :emoticon-0136-giggl

Worse than Martin Dobson? Quite an achievement! He had a win rate of about 8%. Garner has a win rate of about 6%. I think Malcom Allison came in after the Dobson fiasco and steadied the ship with the diamond formation. John Ward joined not long after that. Those were the days!
 
Certainly were, pre match "refreshments" in The Centurion followed by ninety minutes of slope induced exhilaration and excitement....... where's H G Wells when you need him ?

Does anybody know who was wearing the Blue and White quarters last night, recognised the names on the screen but not the style and intensity of the football. Those who speak to me on match days will know that I have immense faith in Ben Garner our manager and predicted a win last though i got the score wrong. I am convinced if we live up to name we give ourselves SUPPORTERS and do what it says then this club we love will thrive and grow and move forward.
So when the Tractor boys visit on Saturday lets make last appear quiet with the volume of noise we make

If we carry on with those type of performances/results for the rest of the season, then it would appear that many of us lost our patience too soon! I for one will be quite happy to eat a huge slice of humble pie, if it turns out that BG has really turned things around.
