Some alchie said football bloody hell, im sure he never saw them losing to MK Dons 4-0. Football bloody hell, who'd have thunked it It was an exhibition match though judging long heads eagerness of signing autographs afterwards so not to worry
The first team side looks competent but not exactly awe-inspriring, especially as you know that Hodgson won't get the best out of the players. Isn't that fairly similar to the team that played against Uruguay? I think the condescending and pitiful comments from the Germans around me may continue for a while yet...
I think there are a few English players that could become top players such as Sterling, Henderson, Sturidge, The Ox, Wilshire (if he ever refinds form and stays fit), Shaw, Stones and Chambers too although its early days. They won't all become great but two can that the team suddenly has a different look about it. We just need Hodgson and Rooney to ****off first though
Several of those players looked really good for their clubs last season. How many of them looked good for England? Apart from Sterling in the first 60 minutes against Italy, just about none (some looked ok and Cahill was fairly solid, but that's about it). It has to be at least partly to do with Hodgson not getting the best out of the players. And the fact that Englad haven't had a decent defensive midfielder since Hargreaves means that now our defence has gotten worse, it's being shown up more. So either we go all out attack and leave ourselves vulnerable (like against Italy) or we play more defensively to compensate for our weakness, but at the same time dampen out strengths. I certainly don't think Hodgson's got an easy job.
Barkley could go on to be great, but I don't think Flanno will be any more than competent. Not that there are many other up-and-coming RBs around (counting Chambers and Stones as CBs). Wisdom?
I'm convinced that Flanno will be the RB equivalent of Carra; plenty of heart and desire whilst knowing how to put his limited abilities to best practice. He's our best FB imo
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28947896 None of the new players will start the friendly What's the ****ing point Go home England you're ****
Its because the last squad did such an amazing job, why introduce the new players in such a difficult game #keepthemomentumgoing
I hate International breaks. We either have a summer of no football, or one of WC/EC dross, then no sooner do we get going again and it all grinds to a halt for yet more International bollocks.
