Germany are the first European team to lose a match in the 2018 World Cup Finals :emoticon-0147-emo:

Portugal, Spain, France, Iceland, Denmark, Serbia, Switzerland - all played one game, all unbeaten.

Mexico are the first team from the rest of the World to beat a European team at this tournament :emoticon-0157-sun:

I am really enjoying the World Cup so far. Yesterday morning I had coffee in my usual Iranian cafe in London - owned & staffed by charming and highly civilised Iranian people. 24 hours on, they were delirious about Iran's win the previous day. I asked the Iranian owner who he supported in the World Cup and his reply was immediate..."England".

It also cheered me no end to see just how awful Nigeria were.

I always tend to drift into the German camp when England get knocked out (except when Germany do the knocking) but I thouroughly enjoyed Mexico's win yesterday. Germany turned the screw but couldn't score while Mexico could have grabbed a second with better build up play.

    A low scoring game.

I've gone under 1.5 and under 2.5, and done the 0-0 and 1-1 draw.

If I remember rightly Tunisia drew with Germany in 1978. Prior to that result the Germans had more or less taken over Mendoza, cafes, women the lot. After that they disappeared entirely, skulking in their hotels. The Scots fans on the other hand took their humiliation publicly and got on with the holiday.

Definite photo-shop job there, as anyone who has been to Bermondsey recently could testify.
