Thought we should start a special thread as our tournament begins tomorrow v Tunisia. As this will run and run, we don't want it to make the World Cup thread too big. Final, here we come.

First news: McGuire to play tomorrow.

England win is the sensible result and, as GD is the first factor considered after points earned, a good win is recommended. However, England always seem to start tournaments disappointedly....a 0-0 or a 1-1....then have to sweat it out.

Let's all pray to every deity including the tooth fairy that Kane stays fit.

And that weasel Vardy.

Oh my goodness, I know they said Southgate was going to give the kids a chance but Tunisia are gonna batter this lot!

COME ON ENGLAND.

What a tournament it’s been so far. Would love it if we put in a good performance for once.
Not holding my breath... but I will be playing Three Lions on full volume on the way to work tomorrow

I'm pleased with Englands approach. They have gone about things the right way. They have got people excited once again, that is the first battle won, that needed to happen. But I don't see a special group, and in Gareth I don't see a particularly good coach. I envisage we'll start really well, get on top, then suffer from something like a VAR call that will seem unfair or unjust.
(you know the type of decision, a small push, or a deflection on to an arm, something really cruel)
