I've seen a fair bit, but perhaps that's because I've been watching a lot of Wimbledon, so the BBC are giving it a push? But you're right, it is nowhere near the level of coverage that a men's home tournament would get and I agree with you that is a shame. I've got tickets to the semi-final for the route that England would be on if they top the group. I really hope they get there, it'll be great. Honestly, if someone said 'I just can't get into it', almost fair enough, but media isn't made for individual tastes. It is possible to go 'not for me, but I hope everyone enjoys it'.
takes me all my time to watch england play nowadays, never mind england ladies. my missus watched the game in full. i watched bits but couldnt get into it. i will entertain a semi..... or the final if they get there. my missus watched norway v ni. some dodgy keeping for one of their goals. i normally moan about womens football getting far too much coverage due to the obvious agenda on bbc over the last few years. but i can honestly say i didnt know the ladies euros was on until englands first game was already underway. however i have been avoiding 5 live, talk sports etc since the season finished. twitter, of which im relatively new to, has been my go to media fix especially re the ukraine situation. although since that looks like its going to extra time my interest in that is waning.
Like this? And to think McEnroe copped a load of flak the Williams sisters wouldn’t beat a 100thnranked male player. https://www.tennisnow.com/Blogs/NET...n-Who-Beat-Venus-and-Serena-Back-to-Back.aspx
England vs Norway tonight.. I can hear the Norwegian tv commentator already. 'Lord Prescott, Lord Charles, Sir Tony Blair, Boris Johnson, Elton John, Tyson Fury, Adele can you hear me... Your girls took a hell of a beating.' Other names are available.
i only remember hearing him say maggie thatcher, maggie thatcher. or maybe thats what my mate used to say cos he had the almost nasal accent off to a t. he died last year or i would have rung him up now to ask him to say it to me.
Its attached. He kicked off with Lord Nelson, then Lord Beaverbrook.....Maggie Thatcher did get a few shout-outs as did Henry Cooper...and Lady Di. He reckoned that beating England made them the world champions...He must have been on the sherbets. We were ****e...
I enjoy and advocate the women's game, including earlier in this thread, but I will say that this narrative that they don't dive about like the men do is absolute bollocks. They're trained to win penalties where possible just like the men. I think people just think it's a good line to spout without actually basing it on anything - a bit like the one about rugby being a family game where you don't get any trouble.
