Gotze is the German Messi, if they don't think they need their Messi then they are doing well!

You're getting a bit obsessed with Milner now, he's nowhere near as bad as you make out. In this country we have seemingly infinite young fast wingers/forwards coming through and hardly any who prioritise crossing like Beckham did. Milner is as close as we've got to that, he hasn't done much in this tournament yet I agree, but you can't say he can't cross when he can hit balls (and score) like this:

Watch that video from about 4:50 and look at Milner's epic crossfield ball from his own half, then 2 passes later he receives it again on the edge of the box and scores a screamer. It's that kind of thing that's got him in our starting 11, the awesome pass, then covering all that ground so quickly when many players would have proudly sat back and admired their pass, then the finish. The quality of the video isn't great but you can still see what he's done there.

Chill out Chazz, I don't see how playing a load of games for them makes him an awesome player in any team. That's like saying Marney was a quality PL player because he played 2 seasons worth of games there for us. Podolski will be at Arsenal this year, get back to me if he does considerably better for them than Walcott does. It's really easy to pick out someone foreign and say how great they are, we'll see how good he is when he plays in the PL though.

Spain have Mata, Fabregas/Torres and Navas on the bench every game. They'd all get into any other national side. I don't think Mario Gotze can be compared to that.

I didn't mention their keeper or left back? That's because we also have an excellent 'keeper and left back. Just because we see them every week doesn't mean they're any less good.

Exactly.

Going to be optimistic and say we'll win 4 nil, lol, it seems like a random expectation but if it turns out I can chuckle to myself, Rooney 2 goals, Young and Gerrard <party>

Im perfectly fine thanks.

Yes thats comparable isnt it. The German national team that got to the final of the Euros' in 08, the semi of the WC in10, and he has scoired 44 goals for his national team. You are being ridiculous, stop embarassing yourself.

I support England through and through but to diminish players of other nationalities is ridiculous with records like they have. FACT. END OF !!! ha

It's not a matter of English players VS German ones or national pride. I was actually comparing Germany to Spain, because everyone ****s over Germany but imo they are miles behind Spain in terms of talent. Germany are effective obviously, but they're hardly tearing teams apart. That's all I'm saying. Their squad doesn't have anywhere near the depth that Spain has and I don't think they're sinificantly stronger than us. Like I said, their teams revolves around Schweinsteiger and my hunch is that without him they wouldn't be as good. I'm not saying Podolski or others are terrible, just that it's easy to get all excited about a player who has never played in our domestic league and we rarely see but hear about often. Like I said, if he tears up the PL this season let me know.

You are really turning into a cock. Khedira has played for Real Madrid for the last two seasons.
Let me know when any English players go to Spain wont you.

No comment on the 44 goals at International level either then??

Ah the old Germany are effective bollocks. They've been just "effective" for the last 50 years.

I'm turning into a cock. I know you've said you're fine once, but I still think you need to calm down a bit. We're casually discussing a rival team's ability, no need for all the tears. I don't need to comment on the 44 goals, I'm not saying he's terrible. All I'm saying (for the third time now) is that they are not the powerhouses people are making them out to be. They're a good side and that's why they've won 3 games, but they aren't an amazing side like Spain have been in the last few years and that's why they haven't won any of them by more than a single goal. The 'effective' thing is perfectly relevant because they've won games without playing amazing, attractive football. Like what people say about NP. For example, Holland lost all 3 of their games, but imo they have the best squad after Spain (look who they have on their bench). Clearly they weren't 'effective' enough despite their quality players.

Your really getting deluded and making a feeble attempt to be patronising. Im trying to tell you to stop making a cock of yourself. We wernt casually discussing, you said Podolski isnt any better than what we have. Now you refuse to comment on the fact he has 44 goals at international level. Therefore making him a more valuable player and one that would walk into our team. But dont let facts get in the way will you.

Declaring Germany to be effective pays no attention to their history or to a team that will grow into the tournament.

I never pay attention to history, it's a distraction which far too many football fans bother with, how can Gerd Muller et all affect how Germany play now? I'm getting a bit bored of this now though, you just keep having a go and ignoring what I keep telling you that I'm not saying they're ****. I'm just saying they aren't as good as people are making out. If your argument in that respect hinges on them growing into the tournament (surely that is a confession that they haven't been that good yet?) then clearly it isn't a very strong one. I'd group Germany along with the other 'decent, but not as good as Spain' sides like France, Italy, Portugal and us. Yes England.

Less than nothing, I admire him for running all day but they could pick somebody from League 2 to do that. Roy will know this, Walcott will start v Italy, knock-out stages now no point playing scared, lets go for it!

Just because Spain have not turned up so far doesn't make them an awful side. There bench would walk into basically any side in the world, and Germany are more effective at times, but they have hardly played well either. Just some people look and see Germany won three out of three o they must be amazing, if you actually watched their games bar the first game against Portugal they where very average, and even poor at times. Just because a team gets 9 points doesn't make them amazing. What nation will everyone bum over in the World Cup? Will we copy each team that does well in the Euros/World Cupand follow everything they do. Not so long ago we was looking to Holland to copy exactly what they do, don't hear everyone clamouring over the Dutch now.

Also if Podolski was THAT amazing why would Bayern Munich let him leave, and thats the same Bayern Munich that lost to Chelsea.

Also on Milner i don't understand him either, good lad, but he has played for the previous two years basically solely in the centre of midfield, if him and Johnson are on the bench if they need a winger Johnson goes on, if they need a centre mid Milner goes on.

Young had a much improved game today. Many deadly crosses and a few more successful runs. Milner however did not change my opinion of him. I think he's too prone to losing the ball. His runs seem to end nowhere, and he pulls of one decent cross all game.
He isn't exactly woeful, but I would much rather Walcott start.

Walcott tends to be poor when he starts - I like him coming on after 60 mins.

Oxlade-C for Milner would be a tempting change for me.

Apart from scoring the winning gold he was ****e. ;)
Still it didn't stop Tyldesley ****ing himself into a frenzy every time he got the ball though,

My particular favourite was when he said, and I quote, " The England number ten is really finding his rhythm now"
Ten seconds later he misses that sitter of a header, it shut silly twat Clive up for about five minutes and he was arse licking Rodney( no typo that's what I call him- cheers Del Boy) again.

It's that false laugh he does every time he comments on wig boy.

You know the one, where he starts the sentence normally and ha then ha ha starts to ha ha pretend to laugh.

I ****ING HATE CLIVE TYLDESLEY .

I don't care if that's the correct spelling either. He's a massive bellend.
