Well 70 French youths try and attack England fans outside a pub , England react and then get the blame.

We are no angels at major tournaments but we get blamed for anything because we're an easy target.

We do tend to provoke the locals as in singing about the IRA in Dublin, mimicking Bombers while singing the Dambusters theme in Germany and wearing Crusader costumes. Why can't we be more like the Scots and Irish and mingle with the locals instead of trying to anger them?

Crusader costume? What are you on. Should scandanavians therefore be banned from wearing horned helmets?

We do mix with the locals. There are occassions where a minority do not and cause problems. But then the same can be said of many other countries such as Holland and Germany yet you never hear about them.

Okay, the first stirrings of interest in the tournament are happening with me now. I'm getting kinda into it. Must be the £20 on Kingsley Coman that did it!

The Scots and the Irish fans are always praised when they are abroad, I want our fans to be like that too.
You can't deny that English fans sing provocative songs.

Granted we don't help ourselves, but English fans have always been mistreated abroad, due to our behaviour at past tournaments. 2 people arrested for a minor scuffle, but going by reports you would think we had destroyed half of France!

Staying at home for a few years would probably be best, in all honesty. Whenever I've come across England supporters in Europe it has been a slightly embarrassing experience for me, at best. I adopt my best Italian persona at that point to combat it. :)

The Scots and Irish sing provocative songs when they play us.........and is Scots paying to attend and sit with whomever we play supporting them not provocative?

The major difference is that England's following is huge and the bad element is therefore amplified. England take more away support than the other home countries do.

I still don't get this "English problem" All major nations have this problem but we only hear about Engand fans and because of that "reputation" England fans are continually goaded.

I am not condoning singing IRA songs nor ISIS songs but I think even English people are assuming here that the England fans started it or provoked it and it may well be that drunk England fans reacted to something the French did by singing provocative songs.

All I have heard officially so far is that French "locals" threw bottles at some English fans and it all kicked off.

Because the ultras in Italy are an example we should all follow?

We will be lucky to get through the next few weeks without a few problems seeing as Russian and Slovakian hooligans will try and get us. On top of that the Welsh will attempt to sing us to death.

Well done for misunderstanding that. No football supporters, in a big group, are examples to follow.

I agree totally ;) We are on the same page. I just don't think dressing up as crusaders or vikings or anything else is provocative to anyone unless they are trying to find it provocative.

The latest updates are that it wasn't 2 England fans arrested. It was one local and one England fan.

Are you kidding? The Scottish? The same Scottish that rampaged through Manchester a few years back? Stormed the Wembley pitch?

England fans won't be the first or last to get into fights this European championships. Local idiots will see it as a challenge, it would be the exact same if England held the championships.

Tbh, leaving aside England supporters, I'm not surprised when any group of football supporters at a tournament incur a few arrests. Football supporters, by definition, are noisy, so they're off to a poor start for most people. That''s leaving out the occasional bad language, provocative nature, the occasional tendency for smiles to turn to anger. It's all there in the tribal group and ordinary people have to make allowances for it. Thankfully, they do.

It is so painful watch Roy & Wayne answer the media questions. They both seem so nervous. I do hope this isn't going to reflect in tomorrows game.
