For anybody who has a love for cricket, Lords is just magical - its the most amazing sporting arena on the planet - there is nothing like it anywhere - and i've been to a few ! If you've got any liking for cricket then you MUST go to Lords- it has such heritage and history.
Chris Tavare - wow , you're showing your age now ! Great bowling display by England - got good chance of winning this now - just keep it intact tonight and go for it for 2 sessions tomorrow. Looking forward to being there ! BTW - Very sad news about Amy Winehouse - such a talent wasted. very very sad.
Who's got England to win now ! Should be brilliant day tomorrow - i'll see if i can update from Lords - be the first Charlton report from Lords !!
It also shows i can't spell either i can't believe out of 7 tests Leeds and Manchester loose out, yet London gets 3! I think tomorrow might show Englands weakness, can trott and cook score fast enough to bat India out of the game and still allow enough time to bowl them out?
Hey Stu, echo the thoughts on Amy, echo the thoughts on England. We may actually have to face up to England being the best in the world at a sport again soon!! Broad looked world-class today, and when he's looking world class, you can pretty much rely on Anderson, Tremlett and Swann.
I have indeed Stu - nice press box. Can't stand the place. I agree, it's desperate news about Amy Winehouse. She was never going to make old bones, but 27, ye gods. I trust all those who put temptation in her way and contributed to her destruction are feeling thoroughly proud of themselves tonight. Great singer. RIP
What a game - what a team ! Its not often you can say that about an England sports team. I saw an amazing day, Matty Priors innings was one of the best i have ever seen. No 1 in the world here we come. Very proud.
Stu- it was probably the first time ever I've sat and thought, then become jealous of someone who I've met via 606 or not606. Couldn't help think at times that "stu was a lucky ********". no offence intended of course!
Great result. Decisive and relentless cricket. Just had a conversation with my Dad. He said that when he was called up in 1939, he had his assessment and medical at The Yorkshire Grey, then all his squadron were sent to Lords for 'processing' and he spent a day there before being put up in a set of recently built but unoccupied luxury flats by the ground in St John's Wood, apparently a slight contrast to their next port of call which was RAF Cranwell...
