You realise Henderson’s job isn’t to create goal scoring chances. Funnily enough that’s what Kane, Sterling, Lingard, Ali are in the team for. The 4 players that are playing ahead of him. Henderson is the only proper midfielder in that team, if you want him to be on the edge of the box creating chances and leaving the back 4 totally exposed to a counter then fine, but no doubt you’d then slag him off for not being back to cover. Hendo gets a lot of stick and some of it is warranted but you can’t moan that he doesn’t create chances, that’s like moaning that Harry Kane isn’t making enough tackles! Yeah he makes sidewards passes, so does busquetes for Spain. He makes about 2 forward passes a game, no one cares because that’s not his job. That’s why you have iniesta, Silva in te midfield with him. Unfortunatrly, bar the first 20 mins where England actually played really well, every time th ball did get played forward to one of those front 4, none of them managed to keep hold of it for more than 5 seconds. You need movement ahead of you and unfortunately everyone was static against a packed defence and I still don’t think this formation of having essentially 4 players central up top works. Isn’t enough space for them all to work in and everyone gets in each other’s way.
