Was fair annoying that both played in their away kits last night. I was pretty ****ed so if I looked up, it'd take me a few seconds to realise Tunisia were attacking and not England.
****ing kit quotas making me look stupid....

Don't worry, it's not the kit quotas that are making you look stupid.

I did wonder who would be the first to say
That's all now folks, anyone else tells me and we're stepping into intervention territory.

I'm a bit bewildered by the English desire to change half the team this morning <laugh>

We did ok. Its a first game in a World Cup against a team only 9 places below us in the World rankings. Our arrogance is at times quite astounding. I was fairly pleased overall I have to say. We started poorly in the 2nd half and struggled for a while after the goal. However we eventually regained control and pressed to the end. The have some decent players and showed against Spain they are a reasonable side.

Yet I see people wanting to change Maguire, Young, Sterling, Lingard, Alli.

Yeah Maguire had a nervy start but he bounced back terrifically and played well. Young I would change for Rose, simply because he looked well below par. Sterling flattered to deceive but his pace and movement were a big part of those chances we created. Lingard had a number of chances. We should have been clear off the back of them but I'd retain him too as his movement and the fact he got so many chances was heartening. Alli is a no brainer. His level dropped after the knock but he did ok.

I think we looked half decent. 1 change for me in Rose for Young unless Alli forces a 2nd.

Agree. The only one I'd switch out is Young. I think he's there for set pieces but I don't really think we need him with the other players we have on the pitch.

Maguire did OK, a bit nervy at the beginning and some lose passes but grew into the game and carried the ball well forwards and Alli I think should have been subbed due to injury so his 4/10 performance I'll put down to Southgate being a bit frightened to make a sub.

Young - Not enough from him, constantly passing backwards and when he occasionally got forwards he had to cut back on to his right foot to cross bar one shoddy left footed attempt. Get Delph or Rose out there!
Lingard - Confidence was gone early with the misses and struggled to get going after them, Loftus Cheek was miles better than him when he came in making runs in behind. RLC to start the next game.
Sterling - Really don't get what this boy offers in an attacking role in a season where he has been most noticeable for the chances he missed nearly every game at City. Vardy up top with Kane looks ridiculously scary and Vardy will still offer you the pace but is happy to make the runs in behind.

Too many changes from a winning side. As a manager if you put your faith in a set of lads at the start of a tournament, then bullet 3 after a sub par performance, its a terrible message to send out in my opinion. We need to give these lads a chance. The only one who looked way off the pace, and to be honest a little bit old, was Young.

Have to argue Raheem's case with you.

He found every dead alley that was going. Did remarkably well in playing with 2 left boots on. Was in a class of his own when it came to losing the ball. Be fair, what more could he have done wrong and you still don't want to drop him. Have to say I think that's a bit unfair on Raheem. It's time for his Summer Holidays and you're making him continue to play football.

What kind of monster are you?

Squad game though and all the lads are there for a reason. If we beat Panama we are through so there'd be changes vs Belgium anyway. Consider it resting them for our "easiest" game on Sunday.

    Young for Rose for sure.

Alli will be rested with the injury.

Henderson won't be dropped but my opinion is he's a donkey who can only pass sideways and backwards. Bar 2 decent passes forwards and a long range effort he slowed the game down to much.

Sterling should not be playing upfront IMO. We have Vardy, Rashford and Welbeck who are natural finishers and can give you what Sterling offers. *EDIT* alright maybe including Welbeck in this is a tad unfair...

Lingard maybe the only one who I think could be forgiven in his first major game for England but I'd still rather see RLC in there or I though Delph was really good vs Costa Rica in the final friendly in the AM role and gives a bit more defensively.

To be honest lads, I like the idea of Loftus-Cheek coming on with 25 mins left and running at tired defences. He could bully a lot of defenders.
