England's problem is the same as ever.
We lack midfielders who can hold on to the ball, make accurate passes and dictate play.
We rely on energy and pace with two of our midfielders in Alli and Lingard being most effective making runs forward to supplement the attack.
When energy levels drop and the opposition adjust to defending against this we are very ineffective - relying on Kane's killer instincts when a rare opportunity comes his way.
We don't have the personnel to change it though.
The best hope is that we take the early opportunities created, get in front and are able to defend well enough for the rest of the game.
When the opposition is Brazil or Spain, this might be too tall an order.

Playing two inside forwards, such as Lingard and Alli, should men that our wing backs get lots of space and time, comparatively speaking. This is where Young is such a poor choice. His lack of a left foot means that he's constantly closed down. and lets the opposition off the hook.

No matter Rose's lack of fitness he has to play from here on, if we have any ambition....oh yeah. and no more ****ing Sterling. Get Rashford in there.

We played Tunisia....They spent 89 minutes defending....Possibly a little premature to declare him the new Beckenbauer?........

.......or not.

Say hello to Southend for me. The cockney Riviera...….or was!
Had a good day out with the Mrs and got some quality spurs merchandise from the spurs shop in the high street.went in a pub for refreshments as you do and a gooner and a spammer actually shook my hand when they saw me wearing a spurs shirt and spouted out thank feck for harry kane last night <laugh>

Is there anything else in life that produces that response...? There are a few bands that can illicit that response. I remember seeing Stiff Little Fingers in Blackpool a couple of years ago, when they played Alternative Ulster and Suspect Device....total pandemonium, beer, wives, children, artificial limbs, all thrown to the heavens. Joyous.

Football..........Bloody hell.

I think if I ever had to explain why I became a football fan, I'd show people this clip.<cheers>

I love the way the eyes of the guy in the second clip bug out of his head...and whichever clip it was with all the shiny things in the pub. When they all started swimming it looked like the POV of the inside of a beer.

Of a number of favourite moments, I particularly enjoyed the 2 black fellas, slightly to the front of dead centre, at 6:39. They've not a ****ing clue what's happening when the beers start flying but after a couple of seconds, one of them decides he'll give it a go too. Have some of that.

Good for you, sir....
