If it's going to given to anyone in the near future I think it will be Hodgson, the FA want an English manager and I don't think they'll risk going for a manager currently under investigation for tax evasion and breech of FA transfer rules.

I suppose, but i think his liverpool period might have damaged his reputation slightly. People have started saying that he's at his level with lower-table premier league clubs and, with all due respect, England is a very big step up from liverpool.

Other than he's already managed three national teams, along with four Premier League clubs and several successful European clubs including two stints with Inter Milan. I don't think a dodgy six months at Liverpool puts that much of a dent in his CV.

Christ I forgot he'd been around so long. I've been thinking about his clubs at the turn of the millennia, i totally forgot about inter, the swiss, blackburn etc.

    I stand corrected fine sir.

We also have wingers like Young and Downing, who do have some quality, yet they still don't get a start.

Even Johnson, who's a lousy right back, would probably make a good right winger, in the same way that Bale switched.

Big Sam for the next England boss!!

In all seriousness, I don't think Hodgson would be the right choice. Granted, he has a wealth of experience and a great track record (in the Danish league), but his style frustrates me. Good manager, but just not up to it in my opinion.

The Redknapp situation is very strange. I haven't got any information not publicly known about this court case, but the national journalists talk about it like it's extremely serious. He's the preffered English choice, but I'd of thought The FA would want to appoint the new manager early next year (well before the Euros). Would Spurs allow that? I'm not so sure.

Absoloutely no objection to a foreign manager, just as long as they can speak the ****ing language properly

At the moment, Pearce is easily one of my top three candidates. Great experience in the national set up and commendable record as a club manager.

And to be honest, had Big Sam not been sacked by those Indian muppets at Blackburn, he would be my choice for the post. People moan about his style, but he would have easily beaten Switzerland at the weekend. Hard to believe he nearly got the job in July 2006..

No footballer or manager will do anything for free.

They also expect us to kiss their arse constantly and think they're infalliable.

I think Capello is here for a long haul, as i can't see how we can get rid of him. He's somehow avoided the sack after last summer. I think we'll get to the Euros in Poland & Ukraine, where i expect us to try a bit harder than in the world cup and the qualifying rounds since.

I am reliably informed, that the CID think they've got Arry bang to rights and they expect him to go down for his misdemeanours, they are certainly confident that he's guilty.

I don't think the FA will see Pearce as a realistic candidate, not enough experience and not articulate enough with the media, though I fully accept he'd inject some much needed passion and he's done a good job with the U21's.

Away from the topic, I'm posting from my garden while having a glass of wine, these iPad's are mint. <ok>

Birthday present from the better half, but I think it was about £500.

They start at £399 for the small memory basic(£299 for the old model) and go up to about £650 for the full on 64 memory 3G/WIFI, mine's the 32 WIFI only.

    He's a decent manager, but he's also a Potato-munching Paddy twat.

Yes, the big money one is the all singing all dancing number, the 3G versions are the most expensive, but they come with three memory sizes and I think the smallest version was cheaper than mine. Just go to the Apple site and all the options are listed in price order(the Apple prices are the same as everyone else's and you get free engraving and delivery, so I'd recommend going direct).
