I hate Aneka Rice, so I wouldn't recommend her for the job, she's nearly as irritating as Cheryl Baker.

I know there's a desire to see an Englishman get the job next, but there's not too many obvious candidates. I think Hodgson could probably do a decent job and personally, I've no issue with a someone foreign getting it, Hiddink would be good(though he's already saying he's missing the day to day stuff you get from being in charge of a club side).

Personally I've got nothing against Capello. He's done well with those teams he's managed previously, so clearly he's not a complete clown. I also believe him when he says he always saw the England job as a respectable one, as well as being a challenge he wanted to take on.

However, as has been said many times before by pretty much every football fan in the country, the decision made by the FA to award him such a long contract BEFORE the World Cup Finals was ridiculous. It's also not as simple as saying "he didn't have to take it, especially if he thought he maybe wasn't the right man for the job". We had waltzed through qualifying and ended up as one of the favourites to win the ****ing thing.

Don't abuse Capello, abuse that inept bunch of imbeciles who run our FA.

    1) I thought that was a given!

    2) If I'd mentioned them I'd have had a complete rant, so I'll leave it for now. <cheers>

We need a manager who isn't afraid to say to the players 'if you're ****, your not playing, i don't care who you are'
The only things i have against Capello (not just the like for like substitutions) the fact he hasn't learnt english as quickly as he said (not really his fault but w.e) but what really did it was the captaincy thing. If you're going to give it to someone else, fine. If you're going to give it to someone else again, fine, but tell the player first. If you don't tell the player first, don't give it back to the player who you took it off in the first place? How indecisive does that make him look?

The reason I dislike Capello, is because we pay him a fortune, yet he can't be arsed to learn English, he refused to move here and still lives in Italy, he doesn't go to enough games, he doesn't know enough about the options available to him and though he might have seen it as a challenge at the beginning, he gave up on the job quite some time ago.

I'd worry if they got Redknapp, given that he likes the long balls to Crouch a bit too much, why not Mark Hughes, I don't care if he's Welsh!

Not going to happen, as much as I love the man. He'd probably walk out after a week when the FA tell him England can't legally play Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

"Everyboy say I'm sulking. I'm not. I just think rules are ridiculous when Argentinian can't play for England when he wants to".

Mourinho won't leave Real without winning a major trophy. I know he won the Copa del Rey but he'll want win the champions league or La Liga especially when they have all that money he has there.

thankfully Montenegro only drew at home too (can't believe we're in danger to them!)

re Capello, too many poor performances - the decision to train in Austria was a mistake too. Walcott is still being picked on his one-off vs Croatia. Wilshire & Baines were good, Hodgson is looking like a good bet, zero to hero in half a season, not bad.. (the FA like a clean cut fella, not the best like Clough, Venables etc.)

Yeah i've just seen it, apologies. Hiddink would be decent, far better than what we've got. He strikes me as a man who would squash the egos.
